Official 2013 Georgia Rally Buy/Sell/Trade/Giveaway Thread

Since the Boss Lady is going to follow me with the Dodge Dually and gooseneck loaded with trade goods I'm going to put this out here. I still have the M275 for sale and since it is lighter than a deuce I may load it up and bring it if anybody is seriously interested. If I haul it over there the...

    deuce tool box removal.

A very thin cutting disc on a 4 inch angle grinder works good. You have to take the guard off so be very careful or you'll end up like my buddy "three finger Jim".

I've made a deal for the bolster. Thanks much to Microjeep.

    sirens

As noted in one of the posts above sirens were often mounted on wreckers to clear the way to an accident or let other drivers know you were towing something. When I rode shotgun on the unit wrecker in Germany the lead mechanic (who was the assigned wrecker driver) would use the siren sparingly...

    Wrecker to the rescue

I did have it idled up when using the crane as per Ron's instructions. I can't believe how much fuel is sent back to the tank when the beast is not running down the road. Funny thing is I ran it from Redstone to Sand Rock (80 miles) and only had to pump fuel from the saddle tank back up to the...

Official 2013 Georgia Rally Buy/Sell/Trade/Giveaway Thread

I would be very interested in the bolster trailer if it is usable as a trailer. I can make the lights work. PM me a phone number and I may come get it before the rally. Thanks.

    Wrecker to the rescue

It was pretty steep....I think the bucket saved him from a roll over. Note to self.....don't let the young kid drive the tractor....even if he says "I do a lot of bush hogging with Pappaw's tractor". No injuries and Murphy had a good laugh.

    Wrecker to the rescue

I've been baby sitting a fellow SS's M936 wrecker for a while now and today it saved my bacon. One of the fellows helping me do fencing got too close to a ditch with my primary tractor and slid into an abyss of goo. Since a straight line pull was out of the question (I was afraid it would damage...

Can I buy NEW not 95% tires.

I have four brand new 395's mounted on A3 wheels....not sure how old they are but they came out of GL Redstone a few months ago. The rims are used and still have the CTIS parts on them, the tires are new and still have the little rubber whiskers on them. I also have an extra A3 rim. I was going...

    Dallas, OKC and return

I have an old Army buddy near Dallas that is not doing too well. I may go visit him toward the end of August for a few days. On my return trip I'm going to go up the Oklahoma city and see another buddy. I'll be in the Dakota and if anyone has small items that can fit I'll try to help out for...

Official 2013 Georgia Rally Buy/Sell/Trade/Giveaway Thread

I still have the Missile Command Trailer for sale. If someone wants it I can bring it to the rally or you can pick it up here at Akenback Acres. You will need at least a deuce to pull it with. 1600 bucks if I bring it to the rally or 1500 if you pick it up here.

Panic Button: Bid on wrong tranny?

If you default on the sale GL will lock your account and any subsequent account you attempt to open. I accidently defaulted on a sale (credit card had expired and they did not tell me). If you want to play again you will have to pay a fee and jump through their hoops.

    Downshifting question

Downshifting, like split shifting, is a learned art. Unless you were raised in a straight shift you will scratch a few gears before you master the art. I am of the opinion that you should downshift if loaded to save wear and tear on the brakes. If you are empty you can skip downshifting unless...

Official 2013 Georgia Rally Buy/Sell/Trade/Giveaway Thread

When I moved I found a Bolster Trailer tire and rim. It is weathered but would make a spare. I'll bring it if someone wants it. I also have the flexpipe that is used to remote generators. I'll have several rolls with me. Still have the green wooden boxes and a few of the big grey ammo cans (Navy...

    M54 / M52 front bumper poles

Back in the day we called those rods "idiot sticks" since it helped novice drivers know where the edge of the bumper was. I have seen the copper plated ground rods from generators used since they had threaded ends and could be held on by a nut. Often a guidon (flag with distinctive unit...

    Starter Re-Build kit?

There is a rebuilder in Rome, GA that said he can rebuild 24 volt starters and alternators. He must be able to get parts. The name of the place is Poteet's I think. You might call and see if he will give up the source.
