    Two possum pickup at Redstone

Yesterday (22 March, 12) I made a pickup for a fellow SS member. I took the Boss Lady and Elmo and Ellie Mae Possum with me. We picked up two lots of tires/rims and one very cherry M931 tractor. Mr Murphy must have been otherwise engage since no issues came up. The only hiccup was when I...

Fast-load articulating car dolly with pintle hitch

Use a hand cranked winch like on a boat trailer.......you will not be pulling it up much of an incline and if you use a small snatch block it will increase your pulling power. Anything on wheels has a low rolling resistance.

    I finally Had Enough...

When I removed the front wheels from my last M915 I had to use the "Blue Flame Speed Wrench" to heat some of the lugs up.....I don't know what they put them on with but my one inch Ingersol Rand Impact gun wouldn't budge some of them. I have the biggest Air Compressor that Tractor Supply sells...

Long Haul from GA to CO

Are you doing a DITY move? Rent a U-Haul Truck and a car hauling trailer (U-Haul has them).......use the big truck to move your household goods and tow the CUCV behind it. I did that when I PCS'd from Fort Stewart to Fort Living Room in AL back in 1995. I had bought a junk Ford Escort from...

Help mounting 395s on FMTV wheels

Do you have an FMTV??? If they are two piece rims like the HEMMT rims they should have an O ring that will have to be installed correctly to seal the tire properly. Some tire lube will prob help get the tire slide onto the rim halves. You will have to replace the CTIS valve stem with...

    Multi fuel Question

That warning concerns aviation grade gasoline......back when it was used by the Military for propeller driven planes (yes the Army had planes). The deuce would burn it straight but it would prob damage the engine I got stranded in Germany one time and the only fuel on the site I was at was 110...

    petroleum

The language or your post is confusing. What do you mean by hid? Do you mean burned as a fuel? Petrolum is a broad term in English...do you mean kerosene or fuel oil? We need more info to help with your question.

    M939s being cut up

The genie is out of the bottle on up armoring anything. Ask Marvin. The fact that these vehicles are being sold for scrap or destroyed and sent to a landfill is proof positive that the lunatics are indeed running the asylum.:cookoo: Government fraud, waste and abuse at it best (or worst...

    2011 Ga Rally t-shirt poll/order thread

I have already spoke to the vendor and they are just waiting for the new design and number I intend to order. There are some mediums left but I'm not sure how many. I actually sold a few at the flea market a few months ago.....I was selling some other stuff and I hung up a few...

    Turning radius?

If you are going to back it in do not do a "Blind Side Back" without "Soldier B" present as a ground guide. When backing up always use low range.....you will be going real slow and it gives you time to react and keeps the truck from bucking and jumping. The deuce steers a lot easier when it is...

Becka tha Wrecka meets the torch

Prob been made into Harbor Freight tools by now................the last time I saw it it was behind a bigger wrecker headed for the metal slicer and dicer. I saw Jon today....he had just returned from a "turn and burn" trip to the Land of Northern Aggression. He went up there to recover a civy...

    8V92s all over GL

Double Brested Driptriots will make power but: They are heavy. They suck fuel. They are lound. They suck fuel. They slobber if you don't idle them up.....if you idle them up they suck fuel. They are very cold natured. They suck fuel. If they run out of fuel they won't suck...

What did they do to this masterpiece?

If it has an automatic it is an A3 with a Splatterpiller motor in it.....no multi-fuel for you if that's the case.......that and getting bent over the parts counter when it needs something or breaks.

    Another CDL question..m275

I own an M275 and you will not make it far dragging that trailer....it was all mine could do to haul an expando van 80 miles from Redstone. I also had one of those trailers that I bought from GL Fort Campbell.......they are HEAVY.....I pulled it back from Campbell with my first M915. It was a...

    Pulling civy gooseneck with M931

Since I have a fondness for M915's and other military tractors I have bought an adaptor that will allow me to pull my 28 foot civilian gooseneck trailer with a road tractor. I can fab up an adaptor to use a 24 volt plug (on M818, M931, M275, etc) to run a set of auxillary brake lights/turn...
