My M35A2 Project aka Big Betty

Clinto and Dawn are great folks.......Clint is anal about details and making sure the "green ladies of the evening" he pimps off are top notch. I'm sure you got a good truck. Will you be bringing your green mistress and you wife to the 2012 GA Rally?rofl

    Looking for a flatbed trailer

There were some 3/4 ton genny trailers that had a flat bed of sorts but there were fenders sticking up that would preclude putting anything on there that would not fit between them.

    iPod Interface

When I was in Germany back in the mid-70's I spent a lot of time in a deuce driving for the Mess Hall and Supply Room. I actually had an 8-track in the glove box and two speakers above and behind the seats of my deuce. I have a pronounced high frequency hearing loss in both ears which is...

M931A1 air ride suspension got it home yesterday

I think the rebuild facility at Shelby converted some of the 900 series to air ride. A bunch of frames with the air ride went through a National Guard scrap sale several years ago. I have seen a few of the air ride 5 tons....I think they may have been a prototype that never went into production.

    MKT to Food Sanitation Trailer

That's really looking great Mike.......even though we have been blessed with good weather in the past it's nice to know that if we have some bad stuff we would be high and dry in the prep and washing annex.

    Why a 5 ton instead of a 2.5 ton?

How to decide between a 5 ton and a deuce. 1. Pick up deuce brake drum and carry across yard. 2. Pick up 5 ton brake drum and carry across yard. 3. Make decsion. Works for me every time I think I want another 5 ton.

    Bed weight

You might want to spread the weight among two girders (I hope you mean big steel girders) just to be on the safe side....I would figure 3000 pounds to dial in a safety factor.

    howdy folks

If they are common parts for trucks that people here own and you can price them right you will do a land office business. You can do mail order/craigslist/ebay or you can haul them to MV shows and rallys. One issue you are going to have is getting the Federal Stock Numbers and make sure of...

    MKT to Food Sanitation Trailer

We are evaluating several options concerning keeping the area around the MKT from becoming a mud hole. The folks at Durhamtown go out of their way to make us feel welcome and try to address problems we have....I'm sure we'll come up with a creative way to solve this problem.

I would stick to diesel or gas....alcohol attracts water.

    MKT to Food Sanitation Trailer

I can't wait till the 2012 GA rally to put into action....it'll be nice to have a well drained, well lighted area to do KP. WOO HOO!!!!! It's going to look great hooked to the MKT.

How High of a Garage door?

I would say you are wrong Sir. Do not go any narrower than 12 feet. I had a fantastic 24x72 foot shop and could not get a deuce in it because I built it before the OD bug got me. Mine shop was 14 feet high on the sides and my door was 12 feet high....OK for dueces or 5 tons but you could...

First tank WMO and engine quits!

I always add some regular gas just to thin it out...it's possible that you have an air leak or blockage in the line that coincided with your first tank of alt fuel.

    M1022 anyone?

I still have ammo cans full of nuts and bolts from when I was at Fort Benning in the 80's. I have learned that if you throw something away or scrap it you (or one of your low life buddies) will need it the next day.

    Deuce Blasting truck

You would go broke using a 6 cylinder diesel engine to run a sandblasting rig with a tiny air compressor....even using alternative fuel. There are big compressors suitable for sand blasting on GL occasionally.
