    Having some Problems with a 1970 M35

Welcome to the Green Iron Laughing Accademy:cookoo: Unless you sucked a lot of crud into thr filters you should be able to crank it without changing them (there are only three filters on the deuce, primary (under the alternator) and two secondaries (on the drivers side of the engine). A...

Official 2011 SS Ga Rally Info thread

We would like to have a cover on the ground in the Mess Tent to keep the creepy crawlers at bay. I'm not sure how big the tent is that is being lent to us but if it is the same size as a GP Medium two deuce cargo covers (or equivalent) will work. Another benefit of the tarp that it makes the...

    Hmmwv vs Deuce

I'd rather hitchhike with the key to my deuce padlock in my pocket than drive a HUMVEE. I drove the wheels off one in Korea (Command Version, I was th BN CMDRS driver)...didn't like them then and time has not mellowed my opinion. The deuce is more user friendly, has a better cool factor...

Welcome to the Green Iron Laughing Accademy:cookoo::jumpin::mrgreen: Search is your friend and may preclude you getting your feelings hurt by some of our resident curmudgeons. Most of the questions you have have probably been covered more than once. We know you are here to learn but do as...

Official 2011 SS Ga Rally Info thread

Island.......when yo get to Macon, GA take I-16 east and hit Hwy 129 north to Eatonton...then hit Hwy 44 north....it will take you to Greensboro....cuts off a lot of miles......it's two lane but not as unnerving as having Peterbuilts blowing by you at 80 MPH on the interstate.

Anybody cut their bow height on M35A3?

If you need another reason not to cut them remember this.......loading and unloading carge is already a backbreaking process in a covered deuce. Also the troops seats would be unusable because they are set for the height of the cargo cover......anybody riding on them would have to ride bent over...

Official 2011 SS Ga Rally Info thread

I want add to what Mike and Kenny said. We try to provide decent meals with the military flavor thrown in (Chili-mac and SOS are standard Army fare). And yes.....KP's do eat on the cuff. We are glad to have volunteers to wipe, wash and clean. This year we have the promise of a big tent to...

    5 ton choices-confused

Designed to move armament and equipment, the M-818 was a beast in towing. The load allowance following manufacturer limits was 37,500 lbs. The payload on the truck itself allowed 15,000 lbs. They could not pull civy trailers unless modified to do so. M915 Truck, Tractor, Line Haul 50,000 GVWR...

Must have been some major stress on the cab to do that.

    BlizzardX23's Custom Cargo Cage

Since you are building it from scratch you might consider making it less wind resistant (I know it's going on a vehicle with the aerodynamics of a cement block but every little bit helps).

    broke an injector today

Send me a pic of the offending part and I'll see if I have one.

    5 ton choices-confused

Having owned both (and driven the wheels off them in the Army) I can tell you that the 800 series is louder and rides rougher than a deuce....it is also bigger, sucks fuel and cost more to operate than a deuce. Some states require a CDL for an 800 series even though it does not have straight...

cute little Ford cabover fuel truck

I'd love to find a little cab over tractor like that to pull my van with....the M915 is overkill.

    Camp Shelby 939 series trucks

Bruce.....not to split hairs but only one lot of these trucks have been posted on an upcoming event on an unnamed government surplus auction site. The rest will be lotted and sold over a period of time. No specific info on any vehicle was offered. No good deed goes unpunished.
