How often do you use low range

It was indeed disigned to do that....old school commercial trucks had two transmissions....the deuce has a transmission and transfer case.....the idea is that you get a heavy load moving using low range (less strain on the drive train) and then shift into Hi. Low range is good for low speed...

    Camp Shelby 939 series trucks

Green Iron Pimp!!!!roflrofl In many cases it is moisture in the brake shoes reacting with the drums....they rust together and it can be a booger to get them separated. Usually you have to pull the tire/rim off and work on the slack adjusters (the 900 series has straight air brakes) to get...

    Flat Tire Pickup

I picked up a bolster trailer on time in TN and the guy picked it up with a forklift so I didn't have to use a jack. The spare on the trailer was low so they let me use the shop compressor to air it up. This was a Nat. Guard base and I spoke the lingo.....some GL sites will go the extra...

Some info on Cat 7155 Trans

I loved the Cat trannys in the Army (drove them in 915's/916's) but have been gunshy of them out here since Cat shop time will eat your lunch. All the fun of shifting gears without the clutch (I got a knee headed for replacement). I may have to get a M915 with one in it now.

Welcome to the Green Iron Laughing Accademy:cookoo: You can list it on USHIP or other shipping websites or try to find a vehicle transporter that moves vehicles for car dealers. I used a "Hotshot Truck" (big dually pickup truck with gooseneck trailer) to move my first deuce. If they have...

    Rolling tailboard and rear winch

When I had my 280 shelter I often thought about having a way to load/unload it without having to call my buddy with his rollback. I considered a permanent raised frame with industrial rollers on it and placing some rollers in the bed of the truck. You could roll it off and on easily with a...

Help under standing the lights on a 2.5

I have never seen a 3000 pound car come out on top in a collision with a train or tractor trailer.....the stupidity of the average driver never ceases to underwhelm me.

    2011 GA Rally Buy/Sell/Trade Thread

The rims used top be cheap (around 50 bucks) but they are getting scarce again......I paid over 100 bucks each for the adaptors (but I got a deal from a SS member)......you can prob figure on close to 200 bucks a pop depending on who you get them from.

Is that his cousin/date with him? We also need some CONVOY signs.....I have one that says CONVOY AHEAD for the rear vehicle......does anyone have a CONVOY FOLLOWS for the lead truck. Some mounted or stick on "WHOPPIE LIGHTS" would look good also. What about some banners that say "STEEL...
