    Auxiliary Lighting

Ditto on the separate light circuit......you may also want to put a heavier amp alt in if you are going to run the lights a lot.

What are these unique deuce accessories?

The first pic is the rod that holds the hood up when raised.....usually attached to the windshield frame.....a very good idea on a windy day. When I was in Germany we had a guy seriously injured when the hood was blown down on him while he was checking the oil.

new member looked at possible buy have concerns

Running a truck with dead batteries is a sure fire way to kill an alternator (ask me how I know). The seller prob had it jumped off at GL and drove it home....sometimes you will get a surface charge and not kill it but it is asking for trouble. I now take hot batteries with me when I do a...

    Spare Tire

The accepted way to let the spare down is to in fact use the lug wrench and long metal bar and let it down slowly....letting the bar go and have the tire drop is a good way to get fitted for false teeth when the bar smacks you in the face if you are too slow about getting out of the way. The...

    driving with one rear axle

Since you have two at the same place I would find someone with a step deck trailer to haul them both home. PCTrans is a member here and is a good guy...he could prob do the job for less than it might end up costing you if you tried the recovery yourself and it went bad.

    insulating a 55 gallon drum ??

I have thought the same thing....you would have to be very careful about keeping the temp low and I'm not sure how the oil would react to the electric element. They have a pop off valve for a reason.

    Used Fry Oil, WVO

Since you now have a source for WVO and UMO you can use my formula for Wreckerman's Special Deuce Elixer. For a 100 gallon batch use: 30 gal WMO, 30 gal WVO, 30 gal straight diesel and 10 gals reg gas. In the winter you can back off the WVO and add 10 more gals of gas. In sub zero you...

    Contrary to my wife's opinion.....

Everytime I start missing the M816 I take one of the mounted 1100x20 five ton tires and roll it around the yard once (twice if I'm really jonesing). That will kill the urge faster than a nekkid picture of Nancy Pelozi.

    Overkill Customs

I would consider using a commercial crew cab and transplant it instead of trying to mod the exisiting cab. Maybe an International or the like. Or a Pete or KW with a big studio sleeper. You may be able to buy a "glider kit cab" instead of hunting a used one. I put a lot on miles on M915's...

Ft. Polk? Thats only 950 miles, sure

They used to refer to Fort Puke as "Little Viet Nam" because the climate and terrain were similar. I spent a month there one week. I didn't leave anything there worth going back for.

    Bobbed Deuce - Covington Ga????

Welcome to the Green Iron Loony Bin.:cookoo: There is no support group because we never want to quit. There should be a bobber in your area. If you want to meet a bunch of the similarly addicted make plans to attend the GA Rally in late October. More MV's than you can shake a stick at...

    M35 tractor verses M818

I have a M275 and have had an M54 Multi-fuel 5 ton and an M-915. The M-915 has it over the others hands down...there is no subsitute for HP and higher gears. Unless you just want a M275 for the collector factor (they are somewhat rare) try to get a M915. There is a huge lot of them up for...
