Loading operations,Pre GA trip test for the M211

Brandon, I pulled those trailers with a M916 when I was at Benning.....we cussed those ramps everytime we had to use them....def a two man job. There was an authorized field modification that allowed units to make them hydrolically operated (the Eng unit down the road from us had a lowboy...

Official 2010 SS Ga Rally Info thread

I have the shower heads mounted on A frames from my diesel shower unit.....we should be able to jury rig something with some tarps for privacy (trust me...there are some things that should not be displayed in public). I have seen the shower house at DT and it is not exactly the Ritz.

You Sir are a glutton for punishment.....I drove a deuce 60 miles Wed and was roasting by the time I got home. This is not the time of year for long deuce trips through the southern states. I hope you have a big cooler to carry fluids with you. Remember that you get maximum cooling by...

    Army CB by Cobra

There used to be a CB shop close to most major truck stops......I have not seen one open in my neck of the woods in years. There is a guy here that works on CB's but he does not advertise and only does it for locals.

    Army CB by Cobra

I still have mine that I used with I was an OTR trucker. It has been peaked and tuned, has the low and high channels, talkback and some other mods. I also have a Texas Star 150 amp kicker that helped me get out over the clutter. I haven't used a CB in 5-6 years.

Commo Gear for the GA Rally

We will be running wire for the PA speakers again. Last year we only ran it a short distance and got it high enough to keep from being a hazard. As small as the camp is phones may be overkill but they would be cool. You could call ahead to the Mess Hall and make reservations. Years ago I...

    Looking at a 1953 Deuce

You are talking about a truck that is one year older than I am. And as in my case a lot of things are going to be worn out, need replacing or just hard to find. It would prob make a great restoration and parade vehicle but I would not count on it for a daily driver if that is what your are...

    cooking oil starting point

I run 50/50 diesel/veggie in my diesel Ford Ranger in hot weather......you can run UMO but the M1009 is a straight diesel....not a multi-fuel. Once the weather cools off you need to back off the veggie because it will thicken up in the tank and lines. In the deuce I just put in gasoline to...

Official 2010 SS Ga Rally Info thread

I have a long 4 conductor power cable that was in my van trailer. It will need a new plug in (the kind that RV's plug in with) and a four receptecle plug box put on to replace the military ends. If someone wants to reserve space 77 it would prob reach....the dam thing weighs a ton so it must...

This is how a 3/4 ton pulls an M146

If you know someone with a big farm tractor with front end loader you can get it off by chaining the king pin to the bucket and raising the landing gear up high enough to ease it off.....either by pulling it backward with the tractor or holding it fast and pulling the trailer out from under it...

Wondering about any kind of military wave runner

If you have current unit markings of an active duty organization (bumper numbers and unit designators) on a military vehicle that is still in active service you are impersonating a Federal Asset. Vehicles that are obviously collector items or obsolete are exempt. See Gamma Goat and GOER. It...
