romie.....you are close to Jim Henderson and Tony Wright......both stand up guys.....Joe is in Cedartown and the Alabama bunch is just across the line......me, Freightrain, Bama Lady and several others.
Look for the thread about the upcoming Ga rally (hosted by Clinto and his GF).....it is the...
Look at it this way....a quality hooker would cost twice as much and wouldn't last nearly as long.
Buy the old girl and give her a good home...chit you can sell the axles for more than a grand.
With the mods you can do and the knowlege available on this site you can't go wrong.
BK,
I haven't had a lot of luck posting want ads.....prob my puter skills (or lack there of).
Since these tanks are NOS I thought the info might help someone who doesn't peruse the want ads that needs them for a restoration.
Most of them are already spoken for.

Free gas is good.
Since I have some extra deuce tanks handy I may mount one in place of the spare tire and wire it up using the in tank pump as a transfer pump.
There is more than one way to skin a cat...there just isn't anyway to make him like it.
I was in the 101st Airborne in 73-74.....we still had them in the motor pool......the Gamma Goat and GOERS were still in service also.......I was licensed on the M151 and M35.....no turbo or air shift on the deuce.
OOPS....I meant one A3 in the bunch.
DM....I got a call yesterday..they have the computerized inventory system in place and have most of the stuff inventoried. Sales of vehicles should be available by the middle of next week.....with the emphasis on volume sales (10 or more per sale) and then...
I haven't seen any posted but if anybody is interested there is an A2 in the trucks that we bought at Camp Shelby......it might make a good project.
I will be down there next week selling trucks.
PM me and I will try to send a complete list if they have it ready.
To the unlearned......or those who have never had the (dubious) pleasure of consuming C-rations.....the P-38 was a can opener (yes, C-rats were in green cans with black writing on them). Each C-rat box had a bunch of P-38's tossed in so you could get into the gomet entrees packed into the box...
DAM........I can't have nothin.......I hung in there till 800 bucks myself...I saw that trailer when I picked up some stuff there last week and thought it would look good behind the deuce tractor......congrats on the win.....maybe next time.
Never use the trailer brake lever (trolley brake, Johnny bar) in conjunction with the foot pedal....YOU DO NOT NEED IT AND IT DOES NOT PUT MORE AIR IN THE SYSTEM.....
It is used for holding a trailer in place when backing under it (the old military trailers had air over hydrolic brakes and would...
A lot of vehicles were painted white as part of UN (Ungrateful Nations) peace keeping missions.
They had some at Camp Shelby that the role players drove around in.
I don't go that far with a deuce but Alredneck has the equipment to handle it and I think he has something in PA that he needs to pick up.
Send him a PM.
March,
I just picked up another trailer for "Trailer Poor James" at Redstone today.
I have an appt at Columbus Ohio on the 22nd to pick up some new fuel tanks and a pallet of rims.....I might be persuaded to make a detour.
Let me see if I can work it out with James.

Have you already bought them or are you considering a purchase.
I have a source for pull off cabs that still have all the instraments, glass, doors and steering gear in them.
They are located near me in NE AL.
Alredneck is moving stuff for SS members and is based near me.
I understand his...
DAM.........now I have to have one for the wrecker.........since there will be a ringmount on the right side a periscope on the drivers side is a natural....well at least that's how I will justify it to the Boss Lady. :-D
Well...the bigger the toy the bigger the parts and tools needed to support it.
One of the biggest pluses of the 5 ton is power steering.
If you get an 800 series it will have the straight diesel Cummins diesel in it...it is going to suck fuel...empty or loaded.
That being said, they will pull...
