Yes it is an 8 on 6.5 lug pattern. Found on pre-99 fords; then older dodges and chevy's. I personally use the Ford rims so that they match the pulling truck.
A chevy wheel will be a better fit around the hub as the ford rim is a larger center hole.
See this thread for additional details...
If you ordered the cables as shown on Saturn Surplus per the TM numbers, they are too long at the handle end to attach to the stock location by about 3". I'll get a couple photos of what I've done on mine to make them work. Should be able to get those taken tonight when I get home.
Edit...
I believe I ordered the cables late March, early April but I don't recall if they were listed as sold out then or not. The cables ended up being too long and I had to modify the mounting procedure to get them to work.
When I purchased parking brake cables recently for my 101A2's, I utilized Saturn Surplus and they also had the levers listed as well (however I just checked and they are listed as sold out).
Check some of the other vendors to see if they have them available. Don't know where else to get them...
I couldn't agree more. Good welders are worth their weight in gold and then some. I personally prefer the Lincoln or Miller brands instead of the other names, yes, I'm willing to pay more, but they get used too.
I had the 110v model from HF and was not impressed at all. by the time I was...
Personally, I do not recommend these HF units. For about $200 you can go to Home depot or Lowes and get a lincoln mig / wire feed unit that runs off 110V. Think it's model 125. That's what I paid for mine for wire feed only, then recently upgraded it with the mig kit (another $150 w/o tank)...
Start with a time out, then give it a tough love if it doesn't want to crank. Have had to do it on several personal vehicles over the years. usually go straight to the starter housing with tough love, time outs only to solenoid.
Kurt,
No, I ordered them from Saturn Surplus per the part number that is listed in the TM. They turned out to be too long, so I had to modify how they mounted back to the frame at the handle side to prevent modifying the cable itself. I'll get a couple photos of that change in the near...
Bearings / seals are initially covered under this thread (post 8 ) and again in this thread (posts 2 & 4)
Cannot help you with shocks at this time, haven't replaced mine yet. The local parts houses should be able to match them based on standard measurements.
Hope this helps.
EDIT -...
I only went to napa so that I could get the trailer back up and going the same day. Plus most companies don't like to ship to AK, as they claim it's not continental US; so they give us international shipping. I have yet to deal with e-trailer, may have to give them a try in the future.
I'm stripping mine down right now in preparation for a 6k electric brake, 4" drop axle to be put in. With the brake system, landing gear and axle / wheels gone, I'm estimating that I've dropped about 700 lbs. I have no intention to remove the electric system as it's working just fine; but it...
Napa has them for about $23 a piece. I just replaced mine when I replaced the parking brake cables.
EDIT - It is NAPA part number 22532 (found the receipt over lunch in the truck).
It may be hub centric, but personally, I have several trailers and other vehicles that utilize the ford rim, so that's why I went with it. If you look at the older vehicles, or even smaller 1/2 ton trucks, you will notice that the rear wheels don't typically have a hub for the wheel to rest on...
You can calculate the water for approx 8lb / gallon, or you can figure it out exactly if you change it from gallons to cubic feet. Then multiply that value by 62.4 lb/ ft^3 and you'll know how much weight is added when you fill it with water.
1 gallon = 0.1336806 ft^3
I used the 8 lug 16" rims and tires off of my '92 F250 and they fit like a glove. Now I have spares for the truck and trailer without carrying another wheel around. The lug pattern for the Fords changed in the late 90's ('99 IIRC), so you'll want a pre 99 rim.
Others have utilized Chevy 8...
Ok, here's an update on my previous post. I was contacted by the owner of DaPlug and offered a review / test session after discussion about the extreme temperatures I live in. So far, the lock has been great to prevent theft or trailer access (I've purposely permitted people to attempt lock...
