I pull a truck out last night with my M1009

Sorry i have not been reading new posts . i just look at the cucv posts. So I miss it and I have one of my kids @ UCO too.

My bumper came off a old fire truck (m1008) that was turn back in to forestry and went I was up there get a engine for my M1009 we took it off. it was bigger we cut the bottom tube off we did not like it hanging down that low. it took three of us to put it on after we cut it down.

I have a fire service light bar and ant. mounted on the roof of mine and the radio mounted above the rear view.

There is a lot of smoke at stare up, but it is misty white or blue smoke. I first thought it to the usual valve stem seals being bad causing oil to drain in the cylinders while sitting for a period of time, but it has the smell of raw fuel very strong. I was confused by the fact that it seems...

then would it be rich all the time not just at start up?

the high idle does work. It's just when it starts that first 5 seconds

My bosses M1009 went you first start it in the morning or if it has sat all day start up and it seem like it 's running a little rich compared to mine. his smokes (black) and smells like a lot of unburnt diesel. mine smokes to but its more gray smoke. any ideals why his would be that rich. oh...

HUMVEE glow plugs are working great now that i have a good relay. push the button for 5-7 sec and she fires right up. :-P

I got a GPR7 @ O'Reilly's for 20.00 yesterday

well I installed the 24v glow plugs bypassed the restor bank and installed a push button. now I not getting voltage thru the relay.:evil: I not 100% that the relay worked before because all but one glow plug looked good. going to get new relay this week sometime.

that is what i was thinking bypass the restor bank and put a push botton to turn on the glow plug relay so 24v to the glow plugs right?

pre glow system? what is that. If I change the connect to the round and remove the restor pack and run 24 volts to the glows wouldn't that work?

even the older 6.2 hmvee's

is it ok to put early 6.2 hmvee glow plugs in a m1009? are they 12v or 24v?

I pulled a 16 foot command trailer all the time with the search and rescues M1009. a little gut less but no problem.
