Yes there are two models of the glow plug controller card that I have found I have one of each. For the most part they seem Identical but there are some differences. One has a few more components than the other, seems like protection added to the circuitry.
Well judging by the spec sheet when you look at the part it is not programmable. so just slap that sucker in there and don't use too much heat when soldering it.
:-D
This black box thing is q2 it is listed in the first link that I posted. I have replaced several of these. be careful when using a dremel to remove the eyelet. since the eyelet was soldered in and I did not want to spring for the punch for them I have been using runs that you would normally...
Gaunt, I have cross refferenced several ways and several times and found the integrated circuit to have a current NSN of 5962-01-286-2238. the commercial PN that I list on the page previously posted is LM139AJ which can be found on the Mouser site here as well.
TLC339MN Texas Instruments...
I repair them I have repaired several at a 2m station. I have posted part numbers and distributors as well as others. as far as a schematic or a diagram, I have not made one nor have I foumd one. it should not be to difficult. I do have the values of the majority of the resistors; I have...
It would not be that difficult to run a 24v in the pass side since the two batteries are already in series. yes there is a tap to the 12v and the majority of the truck uses that. so you can in theroy have the drivers side hooked up like stock to output 12v from chassis to the tap. The 24v...
watch out what you use foams like great stuff at first are resistant to water. Over time(in Kodiak, AK about 6 months) this goes away and the foam holds moister and water. I have seen this lead to accelerated corrosion and fungal things both at work and peoples rigs that are on the road.
I Converted my Cherokee to red lamps, that are awesome since they don't mess with your night vision. The down side to the LED's is that you cannot use the dim function. Also if you get lamps that are too bright then you have to order another set that are not as bright. be careful when...
yes the two batteries are in series like a flashlight
batt one is connected to ground (-) and (+) 12vdc
Batterry two is connected to 12vdc (-) and 24vdc (+)
There is a post on the firewall next to the glowplug module where 12vdc connects to the cab, gen1 output and battery1.
I hope this helps...
you can find the Tech Pubs here in the back of 20 and 34 are the schematics in the appendix sections.

Why not rebuild the current one and while you are waiting for parts just hook up a manual button?

Mine has been doing the same, I have looked into it just a little, however the gen 2 is not charging. I have just been hooking it up to a charger a few times a week and rolling with it till I get a replacement gen 2 in.
I know I am bringing up an older post here but thought that this may help out. The IC Chip that is listed above as LM339 crossed to mulitple NSN's The current one is 5962-01-088-3862. This NSN crossed to multiple P/N's I found a valid one of LM139AJ at Allied electronics: Search results for...
