Awesome, I'll check it out and see if I can do something similar. I've seen a few handles that are screw off, wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.
They are definitely a pita. Have everything disassembled except the stupid roll pins.

Hello,
How do I remove the pin that holds the red and yellow haldex air brake valve in place? Is there a name of tool required?

I suppose I should have edited my previous post, I don't plan on being in Montana in the dead of Winter but in the fringe months during transition.

Not a necessity by any means, but would like to not idle in a closed shop for 20 minutes before the engine and tranny is warm to drive.
Also, I don't plan in using the vehicle in Oklahoma long term, plan on moving it up to Montana.

I haven't yet. The manual I have isn't searchable, and the only medium I have to view it is on my phone (no access from work or home), so it makes viewing the manual somewhat cumbersome. I can certainly use it, it just takes longer usually for quick answers.

Checked out my hydraulic pump reservoir yesterday, turns out it's really low. Upon removing the spare tire jack (that was leaking) what's the beat way to bleed the hydraulic system of air (on the hydraulic side)?
Can I fill up the reservoir with the knurled nut off, or should I fill in stages...
Where would you place the heater for the transmission? This would be nice to have fluid thin out a bit with the heat more quickly. Especially since I haven't switched to atf yet.

Depending on when you need your heat, I'll be removing mine and I don't think I'll be replacing it with a military system. Mine just has heat. Works great though.

Saw it on Amazon while ordering synthetic gear oil. Put it in my cart but haven't ordered yet. Any thoughts?
Eventually I'd like to get a hotstart or Espar system for air and engine heat, but that's a long way off (hopefully not more than a year though).
This seems like an easy solution to...
Great info, thank you. That's the plan, but I'll plug anyways.
Checked the hydraulic reservoir and it's way below the refill line. The hydraulic jack is the only think leaking to my knowledge, but I'll refill and check after plugging the jack. Appreciate the suggestions.

Without knowing the truck you are looking at, but using deductive reasoning, I'd suggest considering the area it's sold from and the other condition. Is it likely it got flooded and are there signs s of rust, etc.
Missing batteries usually isn't a culprit of a problem.

May be a dumb question, but I've never had to do it before..
I am unhook in the hydraulic jack to the spare tire. How do I determine the size of the fitting that will plug the line prior to unhooking? Most of the fittings have been army painted over, I can only see a "-4-4-4" on one fitting...
Probably not the best advice, but how much oil has leaked out? If it's a slow leak you could just bring extra oil with you and refill as you do with diesel. A temp gun and a few quarts of oil will be helpful.
