    CUCV M1008 - RunAway Starter

Im going to reply without researching :). Why not a high amp battery cutoff switch in line with the 24v feed going to the starter? Would be a nice piece of mind even with the DH mod. Just brainstorming.

It comes with plenty to make one, got to cut it to length

    Broken Studs

Thats a very good point. Do NOT try to do crossover at the camp haha

    Broken Studs

Get the SUP-1104 from summit racing. The steering box weld brace came from rough country. Just call and tell them you want one, only like $55. And mods if I am off base, delete this. But the crossover kit i used is this one.

    Broken Studs

Luckily the cap position is not very critical. Just as long as you get close if you have to drill them. But my studs were pretty loose, so hopefully yours will be too

    Pics of my setup.

    Broken Studs

Thats ok. Get an ease out set and drill the studs. They arent very tight in there, should come out easy. Things needed for crossover: 2WD steering box, Superlift SUP1104 drop pitman arm, a Dana 60 Crossover kit from fleabay with springless caps. And for good measure i used a weld on frame...

    Broken Studs

    1. Where did they shear? Most likely at the knuckle. Grind them smooth as you can, use a center punch, punch a divit in them, then use ease outs to get the studs out. 2. Do what i did. Convert to crossover. I have the same setup you have. Absolutely the best decision i EVER made on this...

    Cold start problems

Go to your local auto parts store and buy 8 new AC Delco AC60G glow plugs. They are self regulating and with your push button setup you are not going to burn them up. You also need to run the wire down that supplies power and check your grounds. Edit. No these are not the factory GPs. But if...

    NV4500 install in stock M1028?

Yea it takes a full mainshaft swap. Pretty good job. But if you can get the bell at a reasonable price and it was for a diesel, you are doing well

Bell housing will run you around 150 if you can find one. How much for the 2wd trans?

    Replacement Batteries: Exide, not Optima.

I replaced the inner fender because the original one was coming apart. And these two group 31s sitting together weight about the same as the original single 6MFT did. When i built the base i designed it with large flat feet to spread out the weight more evenly than the original CUCV brackets. So...

    Replacement Batteries: Exide, not Optima.

I also run two 1000cca Exides. I just built a custom tray to hold two of them instead And I like to rotate my batteries every month or so. Helps to keep the wear on them evened out.
