    Glow plug cycle explained.

I ran a wire from the glowplug side of the relay as I suspected that my relay was sticking, I connected that wire to a small 12v bulb (as my m1009 was converted to 12v by the po). I'm not certain that mine works the way it is supposed to, but I think it does. Turn the key on the wait light...

Does anyone make their own Bio-Diesel???

Great point and all true except for this point, the solvent properties of bio are inherent to the bio itself, as properly washed and dried bio has no free methanol in it. When processing vegetable oil to make biodiesel you do add methanol, 22% actually, lye (aka KOH or NaOH as a catalyst)...

Does anyone make their own Bio-Diesel???

Katadin, Properly made biodiesel has no methanol in it. The washing process removes the methanol and lye from the finished product. In fact if you look at a bottle of yellow Heet (100% methanol) it says not for diesel motors. I'm pretty sure methanol causes detonation in diesels. Biodiesel...

    Hi all

I've been lurking here on SS for a while now and I thought I should introduce myself. I am the recent owner of an 86 m1009 Thus far it has been running pretty well other than an intermitent stall on deceleration issue and also mildly surging idle. (any ideas? I've already bumped the idle up...

Does anyone make their own Bio-Diesel???

I know I'm a bit late to this thread, but my m1009 runs great on it, I've only run about b50 thus far, but it's cold in Colorado. All of the concerns about bio negatively affecting motors can be addressed by quality control on the fabrication of bio, and filtering. There is a wealth of info...
