Hi All,
I have been making progress on Command Car 2# I should have it ready to paint by Christmas, that is if the California nice weather keeps going  This C/C has about 15 layers of paint on it :-P and was rusty due to being a foreign return to the states. I have seen many of these...
Hi All,
I finally picked up the correct Arctic Top for my M37 after a 5 year search, It is serial #807 and it does have the sliding rear window. I will be so glad to get that GMC conversion turd off my truck. Does anybody know how many of these tops were made ? I think they were part of the...
Awesome, pictures ! Here are my 2 M37B1's to contribute to the collection
These trucks are so cool, I drive my lifted one everyday to work and 4X4 it on the weekends, if you check out my earlier post I have the S-152 Shelter mounted on it. The other one is bone stock but I hope to restore it...
Hello everyone,
Aah, just back from Tower Park "Camp Delta" military show. Boy the weather was too nice ! I slept in my radio shelter " A/C'ed of course" and it was great, I included another shot of Chucks M37 B1, The M37 ran great and I managed around 9 MPG @ 65 MPH for a long 800 miles round...
Hey "Shootiniron" The 318 is great and mine still has the 5:83 gears, disc brakes , power steering , full syncro trans and I'm working today on the A/C for the cab, That is a nice looking M37 picture you attached also, I'm not really into the Diesel thing, I like the smooth quiet power of the...
Hello,
To answer some of your questions, My M37 is a B1 and I do have the swinging spare but it is a pain so I carry my spare in the M101 I tow, also in the trailer is a 90 gallon fuel tank I have plumbed into my 37 so I can get some range when traveling far, for instance the Camp Delta show...
If you have a hydraulic clutch type bellhousing on your 318 those transmissions are hard to find due to a longer input shaft, also the clutch disc is fun to get too. I had to get my original clutch disc rebuilt by "clutch masters" because no one could get a "off the shielf" replacement. If you...
Hi All,
I worked on the M37 today, I serviced the 318 and cleaned up the Shelter inside and I thought I would share some more pics of my rig, The inside is nice to sleep in and I have a DVD/flat screen set up in it also, I have a heater & A/C set up I can use for the climate days. I am still...
Well I guess it's time to get ready for Tower Park so on go's the Shelter, I made into a sleeper for me plus it really makes the M37 look cool, I'll miss having the top off but I can always pull it back off when I return from Camp Delta. I was lucky to find a original shelter for the M37 that...
If you want to make your truck look better until you paint it, take some red scotch brite pads and get your self a bucket full of soapy water and scub the thing until all of the oxidization is gone, when it drys your truck will look so much better, I have to scrub mine every other year but it...
Try looking & posting on G741 website. it is the M37 place to be ! While you are there register your truck so the numbers can be shared, the data base is interesting
Eric..
That's the problem with the 3/4 ton, no bed. Most of the ones found have no beds anymore. The later 3/4 tons have beds made mostly of wood and these trucks were the ones that mostly stayed in the States because they were not as needed over seas due to the war ending in Europe, the earlier all...
If the truck is idling fine then you need to adjust the governor. If the gov is not set correctly your truck will surge like your pumping the throttle up & down while your trying to drive it. If that is the problem PM me and I'll give you my phone number and walk you through it.
Eric..
For all the work, if you just look'in for the M37 look just fit the body onto another frame and save yourself a bunch of work, I had a person inquire about my truck with a serous offer but I did'nt want to sell then I asked him, 'why this truck" and he said " I love the look of it" he had know...
Hi everyone,
Looks like I had picture success, This WC56 is just getting a cosmetic re-do, it runs & drives great. I have been cleaning up many years of sitting outside and many paint jobs, I've been fighting the Jamacian Military Police decal from when this command car was used in Godzilla...
