I just called the local trailer shop and they can get me a 13" rise plate for $101 and the pintle for $100, so I can get 2 extra inches out of it and the trailer shop is on my way home from work. When I get home I'll measure the Suburban and figure out how close I'll be to the 36" mark.

I run that same 3/4" impact gun as the original poster off the gladhand with a 1/2" air hose and fittings. Other than waiting for the air tank to initially charge up, I don't have any waiting to get all 6 lugs off a tire.

I recently won an M105 at Polk, and was wondering if someone would be willing to go pick it up and bring it to me for a fee. I'm waiting on the EUC, so I don't have a date yet of when it needs to be picked up. Please PM me if you're willing to do this, or know someone who can. Thanks!

My biggest question is why was the plate ground down and painted over? I can't think of off hand any reason for the military to deface just the ID part of a data plate. They've surplussed plenty of things with swapped or missing dataplates. Unfortunately I do not have any wisdom to impart.

JBK was right on. That was the bolt I was mising. Because it's in the middle of the shroud, one thinks that it's holding something onto the shroud, and not the shroud onto the set. I still can't get the set started, but that's for another thread. Thank you all for your help.
