I removed the tranny top and found a broken lock out plate. I replaced the plate and still had no ability to find a gear. The forward sycro will slide about 3/4" (about right) but the trailing syncro is all but welded against the aft gear.
The Tranny guy says the syncro is bad, at least, and...
I'll be pulling my Deuce tranny tomorrow. I can have it rebuilt (jammed syncro)
or look for a replacement. Where can I get a replacement here on the left coast?
Thanks all.
The reason I'm pulling the tranny out, is the thing is stuck in neutral with a jamed syncro.
I cannot put the tranny in 1st gear. will it make a difference?
Any tips or cautions on dropping the tranny? The second syncro ring back seem imbedded into the gear. my tranny guy says pull the tranny and he'll make it right. The existing threads do not seem to suggest any great problem removing the transmission.
Thanks all!
Welcome, I've got a bobbed deuce up at my ranch north of Reno (Antelope Valley). Since I'm part time there maybe we can hook up with the local MV group there sometime.

LC and JWALLER,
Thanks for all your help. The offending internal piece I believe is called an Interlock Plate.
Seems its job would be to prevent engagement of two gears at the same time? I don't know... I sent a request off to memphis equipment for a replacement. Thanks again.

Gentlemen,
I have reviewed the associated threads previously posted concerning a deuce tranny stuck in gear. I suspect improper shifting technique by a younger family member resuted in the situation. Briefly, the shift lever would not move into any position. It would only "rotate" and not move...
I drove with 100Dollarman in my Pre-bobbed deuce. Since I had a job at the ranch that required a smaller turning radius, I chose to bob the truck and use it as a large Pick-up with a bit of an attitude.....
Me too, 3 weeks ago I picked up my first Bobbed Deuce and trailer. The hardware resides just north of Reno. I lurked here for a couple of months before making the purchase. The crew here makes you feel welcome.
KaiserM109,
A bit of dumb luck and a good truck choice by 100dollarman, resulted in a safe and successful journey. Besides, we use to own British sports cars. The Prince of Darkness has not darkened our MV's yet! Cheers
I'm the new owner of the latest sale from 100dollarman (Hundy). The experience with him was honest, open and entirely satisfying. He is good businessman and pleasure to work with. Thanks Mark!
I took delivery of the Bobbed Deuce and trailer about 1230, 28 May at 100dollarman's shop in Lucern...
