Been talking with Piper Cub regarding the one in the classifieds, he only has one available as I mentioned in Post #10. Found a pair on the East Coast and the pictures look the same "rust wise" as the one in the classified so I went with the pair versus one from one place and one from another.

Found a pair of used springs on the east coast. Much cheaper than new for the time being. Now, does anyone have the measurements on the axle u-bolts? I had to cut all of mine off right at the bend, I know they are 6 3/4" long x 1/2 bolt diameter, but don't have a full one to measure the width...

Does anyone know if the A2 and A3 springs are the same?

Finding them used are harder than you think! I've got a line on one on the west coast and possibly the other on the east coast.

Update I was finally able to remove the leaf springs this weekend. The left leaf spring center bolt was rusted to the axle and ultimately I had to unbolt it get the axle free. Here is the result: The bottom leaf from the left spring is broken in 3 pieces. Also both springs have the same...

Yes I have thanks, what's available in the classified may work as a donor spring as it is not exactly the same as what's on my M101.

Unfortunately, I had already ordered a new axle hubs etc to work with the old springs before I noticed the damage. I have been poking around online looking for a replacement style spring but most are too short or more narrow. I'm still looking but hopefully will have time this weekend to pull...
