    84 m1009 cucv chevy blazer build-up

So I've had my 1009 for about... 5 months? Havent played with the fuel or timing or anything, fuel guage does not work so I fill it up every time I am on my way home from work. Goin about 85 miles, I keep putting in only 3-3.5 gallons per fill.... meaning 24-28 mpg... With such drastic...

    Stickers

So all of the stickers are pretty old... obviously. Some, however, are also painted over because PO(S) couldn't be bothered to mask them. Any ideas on where to get new ones? Didn't seem to turn up much in the search. Looking for pretty much all of them, from the sun visor to the back side of...

Is it safer to wear seatbelts, or not?

I gotta say, it looks like that cab held up pretty well and his death was likely caused due to blunt force trauma to the head, maybe a combination of age too spice it up. It sayed pretty much intact anddoes not seem like it compressed enough to ruin his whole body. Likely that it was crushed...

Squibbly's M1009 and other Questionable Projects

Sounds like I'll do it myself then, would rather splash a bit of chash on practicing and have the knowledge to do it myself in the future... can borrow the welder and some other tools from the neighbor for now. Ive a fair amount to do as far as rust and was quoted 2k even when I supply the...

Squibbly's M1009 and other Questionable Projects

So I did a bit of mig welding like a decade ago, an my rocker panels are about as bad as that... Im still debating taking it to a shop, or tryin to do it myself. About how hard would you say it is? Would the old adage of "grinder an paint..." apply to a bit of a newbie?

    Military Vic Serves Again

If ya mean "intel guy" like jack reacher or some shit outta the movies no way. But not much for the desk work either. "Intel" is a very general term, and was only given as cursory information. At the same time, in my OP, support role was specified, and no attempt at seeming something other than...

    Speedometer & Fuel gauge troubleshooting

I was having an issue with my speedometer reading +10 mph and bouncing while over 35-40 mph. One day, while a bit drunk, I decided to pull the gauge cluster and clean all connections as I was having quite a few electrical issues in it. Forgot to disconnect the speedo and tugged a few times...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Took the truck on its first 3+ hour dive. 75mph on the highway no issue, after return this all fluids, bolts, ect are still good to go. Only downside is passing other vehicles is typically reserved for downhill lol

secret kill switch - security - discourage possible theft?

Could also leave a mean pupper in the truck to deter hoodlums. Works for me.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Klever R/T 17in wheel and 32in tire advertised as AT/MT Reviews looked good, so far I am VERY happy with them. Great traction in the snow and ice, even has spots for the sutds if ya got them (and they are allowed). Since the truck is my daily, I wanted something quieter than the Wrangler 2s so...

    Military Vic Serves Again

Intel wonk also gets a drunken hair up his ass at 1am. Not a hot spot like the sandbox was. You are correct I wasnt allowed to take my truck there, however this is a more 'peaceful' part of the world. Points on blending already accepted. If the truck does come with, it'll be left with the...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

12 inches of snow here an lots of down trees. Took it on the first real challenge since we got it an the truck did EXCELLENT. able to pull off the road for others to pass and just go right through the wall of snow made by the plows. Never even got close to stuck.

It would essentially be my personal vic, if the truck goes down I woukdnt be stranded or something.

    Military Vic Serves Again

So I've entered into negotiations for a contract overseas. I have been informed that I can drive whatever I wish, even ship the M1009 out to myself under the stipulation I pay for the shipping/logistics. We have family in the area, so that won't be too hard and shipping is affordable. Some...

    Starter blowing fuses.

In line with that, is your engine and fuel water filter grounded? Maybe bad ground at starter relay?

    M1009 Wipers

Why do you put those in the grill?
  20. S

    Starter blowing fuses.

This. The post at the front is shown as ground in the schematics. There should be a post on the bottom of the starter solenoid that has a strap leading to the front and going inside of the starter. From there ground goes into that post that hooks to the mounting bracket. The ground wires...
