I do not have one of those but reading I wondered if you cleaned your contacts on your selection switch yet? I have read others that have had the same basic problem and sometimes it's as simple as cleaning the selector that leads to a solution.

Those TM's have a bunch of details in them and it does take a page by page to drill down. We have so many distractions in our lives details are easy to not see. Glad you know for sure. Like you said you would not want to spring a leak.

Could that be a temporary fuel filter drain hose. Looks like it might have been engineered to make draining the water off the fuel simple and clean.

I was reading an 016A manual to see how the generator schematics compared to most current one and I saw this in the manual on repair of the connection load terminal and I attached it. Wish I had seen this when I had it off. May help someone else.

I had time to draw it out and make some notes on pdf. Use a meter and double check your setup. Moving the jumper to the backside L2 is almost mandatory the split lug will only safely hold so much wire. #6 is heavy enough to take the heat its close..real close to muffler.
