Gulf Coast Folks May Want To Order Fuel

This didn't turn into an event for us but was a good motivator to get us preparing and talking. Absolutely cap or plug any open holes in your setup to keep the dirt dabbers out. They will plug holes that aren't even holes. I even put a piece of tape over ignition switches. Have had to clean...

Found a couple Jerry Cans at a local flea market today......

I think I have one in my shed but it's burried. I saw the spout on a shelf the other day.

Gulf Coast Folks May Want To Order Fuel

I have this 12V pump for transferring fuel to my tractors. I connect it to one of the batteries in my generator for power. I made a pickup tube from PVC. Haven't bothered with a filter or water separator. I know my fuel is clean and my pickup tube leaves 5 gallons in the bottom in case water...

Gulf Coast Folks May Want To Order Fuel

You shouldn't have a rust problem if you keep them out of the weather and keep water from accumulating inside.

I think poly drums have a different thread on the bung also. Not sure the regular bung adapter would fit but it may not care since it isn't threaded. I have a plastic bung plug I can compare diameter wise and get back. EDIT: I HAD a plastic bung cap. Not sure what I did with it.

You can Google off road diesel near me. You might find a station nearby.

Gulf Coast Folks May Want To Order Fuel

Have you looked inside the door compartments? Most of the units I've seen had the bung adapter and hose in them. Mine was missing the tube so I just threaded a piece of 3/8" aluminum tube I had with a 1/4" NPT die. Screwed right into the bung adapter. Come to think about it my hose was in the...

newer 803A smokes and bogs down with load ... start with injectors?

Is it just me or do these low hour nightmares seem to come along fairly often? I still think a unit with a couple thousand hours seems to be a safer bet.

The main advantage to drums is availability and cost. I had a tank available but it looks like it has a galvanized coating inside. Wasn't wanting to put diesel in it. The operator manual for my tractor warns against storing diesel in a galvanized container. I also have a lot of 5 gallon cans...

Gulf Coast Folks May Want To Order Fuel

I don't know. I think it's good for several years but I go through a couple hundred gallons a year. I treat mine with biocide and lubricity additives. My pickup tube is far enough off the bottom to leave 5 gallons so I can keep check for water. After each drum becomes empty from the pump, I use...

Gulf Coast Folks May Want To Order Fuel

Its just a convenience for me. My cost often ends up costing about the same as on road at the pump. The main advantage to me is not having to carry cans. They come pump it in and I pump it out. No lifting.

That's what I thought when I got mine. Got hit by two the year I got it. Have logged 50 hours in a year and a half.

Local fuel supplier. Small tank truck backs up to my shed, sets the meter to add the red dye, and fills my drums.

Gulf Coast Folks May Want To Order Fuel

Yep, just topped up my tractors and pumped the final 5 gallons out of my second can the other day. As soon as I run enough fuel out of my backhoe I will pump the fuel from the generator into it and fill the generator with fresh.

New 5 day forecast gives a 60% chance for development. https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo.php I ordered a 100 gallons to be delivered tomorrow since I just emptied both of my drums.

    803a water separator breakthrough!

Every time I look at the drain hose on mine it's full of mud from dirt dabbers. What's wrong with just draining it in the case or holding a cup under it? I appreciate the effort you all went to but sometimes these things just don't pan out or justify the time and cost expended. Might want to...

Lemme think? Delo ELC @ $9.42 or Evans Heavy Duty Waterless @ $52.36? If it ain't broke!

    Frequency Variation MEP-803A

Review page 4-15 in TM-9-6115-642-24 for Frequency Droop Adjustment. It will refer you to the performance characteristics on page 1-7. Here is a print screen for the frequency characteristics. I tried adjusting mine and couldn't get better than 3% from no load to loaded at 50 amps. I set mine...
