It's a long drive! I'll have to shut her down at some point and she'll need batteries. If I drive down I'll just bring them with if I bus/fly I'll just pick them up from Napa and call it done. I'd prefer to have some stack, who knows it maybe under the truck...
I'm going to be close to the...
I just jumped out of my shorts...you should see it...
I just got High Bidder on 5644/6250
Little more than I wanted to but I'm ecstatic! Litterly I can hardly contain myself. Can't wait for the invoice and payment, then play the waiting game on the EUC.
May need a little help with...
Anybody know how much fuel is used in starting the motor? I guesstimate would be cool...
My F350 uses in summer about a 6th of a gal turning over and bringing up the oil pressure.
I'm sure you guys don't worry about it but I do up here.
Do they make fuel temp gauges? You comment on pressure gauge made me think about temperature, as I monitor fuel rail pressure on my 350...but I'd love to see temp.
Is there anyway to make big oil lower their price?
I didn't think so either...
The sad thing is the more people use alternative energy the higher fuel prices will go because big oil doesn't want to lose the linings in their pockets now do they.
Back to your original question.
-Make sure tire...
You don't mention what five ton model you are wanting to install a winch on. I only ask because the M820 never came with a winch however, it's possible to put one on it.
I would either find the truck I want with a winch or if I have a truck I like and want to add I'd find a junker and part it...
I just want to see the truck in pieces!
Sorta went like my day.
Had to bring the Ford back to stock, in the snow in the cold and well lets just say manufactures of parts in the US and Canada have different ideas of what 3.5" actually is.
To make matters worse because everything is metric on...
I don't know about others but I plan to not bring my $#!T home.
Keeping a separate grey tank will let me dump it more often then finding a proper waste dump for the black tank.
But I also plan to use a composting toilet so, I won't have a black tank.
Not much of an expedition vehicle if I...
I hesitated to post not wanting to get off thread..but then I remembered I was the OP...LOL
Anyways to deal with the expandability of the truck. If keeping it in tact with possibility of just improving the insulation and making it a one man job. I was tossing around ideas in my head of making...
That's funny I posted its brother earlier. I choose the one I used because it showed where the fuel plug was better. At least IMO.
Looking at eh pictures make you wonder why they didn't do that in the first place.
I'm actually trying to take the expandability and work with it. Thing is all I have is pictures or numbers, I haven't been in one.
So the box maybe really uncomfortably, I don't know.
My two thoughts are;
A) Modernizing the panels into something a little more weather temperature friendly...
First off the M820 at IMP is way over priced.
Secondly your comments are welcome, that's sort of the point of a forum to express and offer different points of view.
I agree if I didn't have an affluence to MV's I would probably be using a class 6 or 7 or if I could afford what I wanted a class...
Plastic can be far superior to steel and aluminum given the fact that it's flexible. It's all about the correct kind of plastic. For example High-Density Cross-Linked Polyethylene tanks are 20 times stronger than steel. They have no welds or seams thus they will not split/crack when twisted...
The end result will be similar for both as they are both similar in the design.
Combining this with the turbo kit would be the first steps I would do towards getting more power.
I wonder if anyone has installed a Inter-cooler on these trucks.
