I might add, some of you are confusing the SR-71 Blackbird with the A-12 Oxcart. Of course similar, but indeed different planes with different missions and characteristics as well as history. Much of the A-12 program remains classified.
They are extremely durable and off-road capable; well up to the task of being a military vehicle. For civilians, they are underpowered compared to their civy counterparts but not under military conditions. Like a Pinzgauer in that respect. Parts are very expensive but readily available. They are...
Not only did it have a gas engine but it was not armored. It was just a transport variant. The value would depend on paperwork, variant, condition and would range from $30K to over $80K. An Italian-contract variant in excellent condition sold two years ago for $130K in MI. The former DuPont...

The standard issue Dunlop tires on Ferrets serve as run-flats. In fact, a delated Dunlop- which I have experienced- makes the Ferret simply harder to steer and far from flat. These are tough military-grade tires. No real need for anything more.
Everyone who can ought to get to the Ropkey Museum's last rally; Sept. 20-21. This is a Friday-Saturday and it is a great rally and awesome museum.
