What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Last time I took mine in for an alignment, the shop also had issuers with one tie rod not moving. Made me a little nervous when they broke out the torch and still couldn't move it. I took it home, loosened the clamps on the adjuster and moved them completely out of the way, then alternated...

My M149 Water Buffalo. What do you do with yours?

A pressure washer usually doesn't need any inlet pressure; they will be able to pull some, once the system is primed. I'd recommend going to an outlet low on the tank, rather than trying to siphon water through the lid for a pressure washer. I've run pressure washers on multiple occasions from...

    Hello everyone, new here.

I believe the recommendation I see most often is to replace the entire shaft assembly as it isn't worth fighting the carrier bearing to replace it.

    M1123 Glowplug issues

You should test the output before trying to put in a new set. If you put in the new set then test, if it's failed then it won't turn off and you might fry the new set you are using to test.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

A stripped down A2 variant starts at 6k lbs. With a hard top, rear hatch, aircon, heavier frame, and everything else yours has over that, I'm actually surprised it's only 8k lbs.

    EPROM’s

NEWS | July 7, 2021 HMMWV: TCM Has Replaced EPROM Photo by Sgt. Kristina Truluck Mechanics, make a note that the erasable programmable read only memory (EPROM) has been replaced by the one-piece transmission control module (TCM), which is needed to operate your unit’s HMMWVs. If you have a...

H1 tail light buckets on Hmmwv?

true. I left my front turn signals as incandescent when I replaced the rear with the trucklite LED modules because of that issue.

H1 tail light buckets on Hmmwv?

Once all the bulbs are 24V I see no reason why this wouldn't be a good, lower cost solution.

H1 tail light buckets on Hmmwv?

That depends entirely on the LED driver. Some are capable of dealing with a range of voltage input. Some say they are, but don't last long when used higher than 12V nominal systems. If cost is an issue, then you can just buy 24V LED bulbs to put into the incandescent housing.

    Oil filter

The lower end fram filters are reputed to be of very poor quality overall. I don't know if that is entirely true or not, but I don't recall ever seeing anyone tear them open or test them and dispute it. The higher end fram filters seem to be better quality, but the reputation of the cheaper...

    Oil filter

6.2 and 6.5 use the same filters. The only difference is they recommend an anti-drainback filter in the 6.5.

    What’s this plug for?

STE/ICE an extremely outdated military diagnostic tool that is pretty much worthless to try to use. It's not needed and not really used, except in some rare troubleshooting tests it's slightly more convenient to use a multimeter here instead of at the components.

MEP run on home heating oil?

It might have been me, since I know I've linked it a few times. the Spicer test from 2007. https://www.dieselplace.com/threads/lubricity-additive-study-results.177728/ Personally I'm running optilube XL not the XPD as it's the same price but treats twice as much. XL is just for lubrication...

Odyssey PC2250ST 6tl the bad? best seller?

it's pretty simple. The 2x2, 5x2, 10x2 genius chargers all have 2 sets of wires coming out that go to battery positive and negative posts. One wire set goes to each battery positive and negative. It doesn't matter which wire set to which battery, just match up positive to positive and...

What to expect from a 3k Red River A2

If I was closer I'd be down in a heartbeat. Not because I need it or want to use it much, but because it would add one more way to set up my truck (I'm up to about 4 or 5 different setups between mid height helmet hard top, troop carrier, pickup, and currently back to BEOD installed)

What to expect from a 3k Red River A2

aux fuel line with quick disconnect is what it looks like to me. Very interesting frame. Here's a different picture I found with a different generator and storage box on it

To get my HMMWV (M1097A2) in good running order... need help.

If you're off of paved roads all the time, then it would make sense to run lower pressures like that all the time, but on paved roads at higher speeds you're going to kill your tires pretty quickly at those pressures. For on road use you're probably looking at 25+ PSI empty, and 30+ loaded. I...
