Using my SEE for real work

How does your clutch feel after that escapade? I could almost smell it while watching the video.

Help me diagnose my fuel issue

Okay, then it may be blockage, not leakage. I've pressurized the tank, through the vent, to get fuel through the system. And as far as using starting fluid goes, being lazy, I just spray it into the air intake while I'm sitting in the seat, operating the clutch and starter button. If doing it...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Unless you want it all there for looks, I wouldn't worry about it where you live. I stole the needed parts off of my parts SEE, then capped the inlet on the regulator on that one. Well, I have only filled the functional system once in several years (it ran empty pretty quickly) and never did do...

Help me diagnose my fuel issue

It sounds like you may be over thinking this, Ron. Primarily, what is it that makes you think that you don't have leaks in the fuel lines, which is so common? Is the strainer still full when the engine stops, for example?

Help me diagnose my fuel issue

Also good news is that you don't have to use the tool. I've successfully installed all my Belmetric hose without it. Come to think of it, it wouldn't be hard to make one, especially just for our hose size.

Help me diagnose my fuel issue

I think you're fine with the fuel you have, unless... Is there any kind of goop at the bottom of the tank? The one I got with JP-8 (or whatever it was) looked like the inside of the tank had a spray-on bedliner on the bottom third. I got really good at cleaning out the strainer on that one...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

I think they're basic TSLs, and either 39 or 40 in nominal diameter. Either way, bias tires and with about a 4,000-lb. load rating. Got those and the Rockers at about the same time, so I get the numbers mixed up. I think the Rockers are 40x16.50s, also bias and about a 4K load rating...

    Unimog Tires 20" rims. 12.5 r20

I widened a set of stock wheels by two inches to work better with my 16.50 PitBull Rockers. Perfect for my needs, and 13 inches is what those tires call for.

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Thanks, 419g. Those are still the miserable Michelins they come with. Earlier that day I took out a sidewall on one (and later got stuck in that ditch, after finding out that the loader wouldn't hold the front end up). It now has 13.50, I think, Super Swampers on it. Much better.

Using my SEE for real work

Again, there's no need for high rpms or fast movements when latching the backhoe. It can be done very smoothly. Practice makes (more) perfect. And yes, having the backhoe farther back obviously helps balance the SEE front to rear, but I prefer to keep it on all four wheels. Actually, I'm...

Using my SEE for real work

I dunno. To me the SEE is plenty top heavy as it is, and leaving the backhoe up doesn't exactly help with stability. And why do you find it hard to latch? I can do it almost completely silently these days. But then, I also run low rpms.

    FLU419 Snow Plow

I did not use the John Deere version. Don't know much about those, other than that they seem to use proprietary stuff and that anything JD is more expensive. On top of that eBay page is a red one, which isn't just $100 cheaper, but is a universal quick-tach setup. Looks like what I used. By the...

Soon to be a new FLU419 owner (maybe)

And you probably wouldn't get a cab with a heater with a 28K tractor.

Soon to be a new FLU419 owner (maybe)

I have learned that the hard way...a couple of times.

    FLU / SEE

It sure does. But that doesn't mean it can't be a good machine, once repaired.

Soon to be a new FLU419 owner (maybe)

This late in the game (no more auctions, really) you're at the mercy of what's out there - which is all over the place, physically and price wise. Let's say I sold you my meant-to-be parts SEE, which turned out to be great mechanically, for the 5-something K I paid for it. Well, by the time it...

Soon to be a new FLU419 owner (maybe)

Considering how clean it looks, that the hours are most likely 300, not 3,000, and that it's already close to you (shipping would be a killer), I'd offer 22K and hope for the best.
  18. The FLU farm

    FLU / SEE

I would not make that one Couch bought back a priority buy. It must've taken a bit of a beating, based on the "history" in the thread. Then again, if it lived through that ownership, it can't be all bad. The one for sale I saw is here on S/S, by the way. Looks like it has a broken cylinder...

    FLU / SEE

I saw one for sale somewhere yesterday, so yes. You probably won't find any on the normal auction site these days, though. And I have two.
  20. The FLU farm

    FLU / SEE

Well, a SEE is one version of the FLU419. Then there's the HMMH (crane/forklift) and the HME (trencher/dozer blade). If memory serves me, that's 2,800, 138, and 13, produced respectively.
