Looking at the pics again, looks like there are other treadplates & frames along the fenders on the inside so I am back to a special purpose support truck.
Would be curious if it has other data plates in the bed.
Also has 2 of the fuel/water older can mounts on the back right seat...
Also noticed it came from the European theater with the red/yellow stickers required in Europe and it had the combat ID panels on the back fenders that are removed in demill but the brackets left.
Also has the extended tailgate mounts as maybe there was something mounted in it. Shelter carriers...
I viewed 100 trucks in mobile that all came from red River earlier in the year almost all m1097 flavors before they were cleaned up and listed.
Most in good shape that were supposed to be recapitalized/rebuilt and were not. Issue is that they sat and got cannibalized and crap thrown in the...
My guess would be to put a vacuum gauge & pump on the small hose and see if it holds the low pressure when pumped up. If not, I would assume the diaphragm is broken.
The 4 hole flange plate on the back with collar has at least 2 variations on height.
Since you have the mwo add on plate for extra capacity, it is taking up some the slack.
The flange plate is where I would consider removing material safely to shorten
I looked at that post and website and it was very interesting. Only thing my feeble brain could not wrap around was the hmmwv rim half studs and nuts are not beveled seats so if that is now the point of attachment on the new adapter plate how are they "true and centered" Maybe at these speeds...
I believe that is a jic flare fitting. No o ring.
I would unscrew, make sure interior fitting is clean with no dirt/paint and reassemble. That is reusable field fitting that can be disassembled and rubber hose replaced.
My go to when chasing this type of leak is a can of spray degreaser such as gunk to hose down the area to remove dirt and oil/grease so the fresh stuff stands out clearly. Also makes the repair slightly easier as you will hopefully stay cleaner ..
another solution if just needing a USB cable(s) that works well on HMMWV and not in the way is a field plug to the slave cable port. I have used this solution and very happy with it. Veteran owned company, btw

unofficial name is "exhaust donought" or technical name is exhaust flange gasket. I ordered mine from kascar as it looked civy but I could not find the correct one aftermarket.
