Wow that just sounds like a lot of work for just an ABS system . I'm just saying with the prices of the 5 ton's lately wouldn't it be easier to sell yours and buy one already equipped with it . I understand it being needed in snow and ice but, I really wonder about it's need in our southern most...
Well the title said it all. I have the chance to buy a descent Mk-14 4x4 container hauler . I want to know if it is possible to use this model with my 923A1 . Most trailers just don't have the height to look right behind it . I don't need it just want it :) Thanks for any help on this subject.....
Thanks jw4x4 I thought it was something logical. I will put mine on IF it ever stops raining here . I don't know if the chances of a short are really that high being the location but, I see where it is possible ............
I had the same thing happen to me and like you I wasn't sure if I made the mistake of leaving something on. I had to remove each battery and charge it one at a time . I also had to take one back to the place I bought it from and have them put a charge on it . Every time I put the little 12 volt...
I had a friend who runs an auto electric shop try to get me to replace mine with the screws instead of the post . He said they are really better than the post type. I didn't want to change them over but , Now that you have them just give them a try and see which you like the best........
I am sooooo jealous I have only had time to do minor things on mine . To make matters worse I went out to play with it the other day and the batteries were dead as a doornail . I left something on I guess ( live and learn) I thought when you through the battery switch it shut off all the power...
I just bought an A1 and don't get me wrong I love it but there are times when I wish I had not . The bed on theses trucks are always to high unless you have a dock that is 5 ft high. Getting the 1400-20 tires balanced is also a project in it's self and a costly one at that . You are always a...
On my 923 the mirrors are mounted to the frame not the door so every time you open the door to far it hits . When I drove in the company truck I had the problem with theirs that never stayed in place . After many request for the mechanic to solve the problem I brought my cordless drill to work...
Understand I am not and don't claim to be a mechanic having said that I would use a thinner oil like a 5W-30 in cold climates . Also if you use a block heater it should stay on all night . I know some say it doesn't matter but the radiant heat will make it's way through out the motor in time ...
I replaced mine with 2 31 series commercial nationwide batteries. They sit on two one inch boards just to keep them from contacting the ribs I will go back and secure them more when and if I ever have time to work on the truck that is ,,,,,,,,
Nice truck I love my 5ton . I had the paper work come back in less than two weeks . So I have to do the registration in January ....Santa broke my Check book :)
Very nice build thanks for sharing the pics. My first mv was a 1968 A1 trailer and I sold it for twice what I paid for .I still miss the darn thing .....When you put that much time in one take my advice and never sell it.......
That is a great looking truck . Your friend is very lucky not only about the truck but, also to have a friend to help him with it like you did. I would add that if possible drain the fuel tank and wash it out before it causes more problems.
I had a similar problem that never went away and like you I looked for everything that it could be. I finally ended up wearing them down and bought a new set .......you guessed it the problem went away it was the tires not the truck. I never new why, it may have been something in the side wall...
I for one have always relied on the driver more than the truck . I have been a long way from home in a truck with duels on the back and two wheel drive. Keeping your head and thinking BEFORE you get into a bad situation is the best way to get back home safely. There is NO truck or tire to...
