If you can try to register it as a antique . This is a great way to have the Deuce at a good insurance price but, it does have limitations and at times it can be a pain in the rear . If you plan on driving it every day then stay with standard insurance,s .....
There is a simple solution , have the current owner of the truck try to title it if he can the you can reimburse him the money if you wish . For me, and it sounds like a few others is the fact that you may be buying a truck that will hurt not help your mission. If you do a search of the topic...
These things are known to go through fuel at an alarming rate. Even the Deuces run at about 10 mpg at best. Empty are loaded doesn't seem to make any difference to mine. I know when it comes time to fuel it , just shut up and pay the nice pump :) That's why I have my motorcycle to balance out...
Thanks for the tip . I don't have are see the need for the LED's . I am 56 and kinda like the warm lights compared to the white lights of the LED's . But I agree regardless of which lights snow or mud soon makes either one invisible .......
Brake fluid normally doesn't disappear it has to have a leak somewhere . Have it towed or hauled just don't turn your first Deuce into a nightmare. Your life and others are far to hard to replace .....trucks are easy ........
I have to say I am jealous, I haven't had more than two or three hours since I brought the truck home. And it was to fix the soft top yep you have a number three to add to the crappy stitching . The guy who delivered the truck just ripped it off and destroyed the front rubber clip. So I had to...
Don't be sorry we all learn in time . What you really ask was for an opinion and that is okay to but research the tread and let us know in your case which paint you feel is the best. I bet you get a lot more answers to your question then. I have seen some home depot paint jobs that look pretty...
There are VERY few things in life that beats the friends that I have on here. I only hope to see you all here in top form in coming new year so merry Christmas to you all and a special thanks to o1951 for starting this thread.......May God bless and keep you all safe
I can say with all honesty that if you add it up with everything going in your favor, you could drive it home and make one heck of a memory . On the other hand it most likely will be a disaster . The reason I say this is that it looks to be a nice truck but, I noticed the head lights were...
I am rebuilding my 923 and it doesn't have any troop seats . I am in Florence, SC And a friend and fellow SS member has one troop seat from a Deuce. The wood is bad but, it has the hardware . If anyone has a set of seats or hardware close to me I am interested in them. The hardware should be the...
Like emr I have the 1400s on mine and love the look but in no way would I use them under that kind of weight . At speeds higher than 45 0r 50 the out of balance tires will give you a wild ride with no load . Would only hate to try it with a full load that moves side to side . I would stay with...
I don't mean to steel this thread but I have the 1400-20s also but do these tires have tube in them because if not why not use a fixaflat product for a slow leak. I know many off road people use slime in the tubeless tires even before there is a problem with a flat in the middle of nowhere . I...
I used a patch and gorilla glue and put a brick on it over night . I was impressed with the bond even when you flexed it . I also used the as seen on TV rubber spray two days ago for some worn spots that leaked when it rained hard. They were on the soft top where it had been folded and stored...
You have really done work to be proud of . If I may ask why did you go to the trouble and expense of 4 batteries instead of just two. I down sized mine to just two and so far haven't had any problems. Don't get me wrong I still have all the clamps and cables to reverse it if I do have problems...
I had just drove my 923A1 home and had not even unloaded my bike yet . I haven't even had time to play with it yet. I want to work on it after the first of the new year. I HOPE lol
