Did this truck come from Mobile? All those trucks came from Red River and have been sitting for a very long time probably 5 years or more....
Are there many parts missing and heavily cannibalized? If so, there is your answer on the motor and why it was turned in......
Yes and more info here:

I can't recall but seems I got them here on classifieds and Epay as I have 4 of them on my m923 & m998
Or this kind:
there is another style of antenna tie down that the antenna clips into not hooks over the antenna. That way if you get hung up. It will spring up. With this style, it will snag until something breaks....
I have broken 2 masts this way and do not use that style anymore. YMMV
Several years ago but now resolved with friendly mv regs.
Long thread on here. Don't recall thread name....
Mod. edit: Probably this thread: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/louisiana-state-flagging-existing-titles-and-registering-new-vehicles-as-off-road.177374/
as stated, do not try to jump start with dead batteries or you will let the magic smoke out of your start box, regulator or alternator (price a 200amp unit) , starter etc and be many $ poorer and much more wiser.
Do not ask how i know such things...
beat the stud out and bring to an old school parts store like NAPA. With the head code marking and a couple of measurements, an experienced counterman using a buyers guide can come up with the stud not a young guy on a computer.. ;-)
These are common and not military specific. Probably dexter...
You probably need the unit that screws into the water crossover. Different ones depending on which box you have. That solved my light problem but it does not mean that you might not also have bad plugs.
Need more pics of where the wires are going to?
What kind of start switch? Oe, push button, key?
That is a 60-80's ford starter solenoid.
Maybe a winch or plow set up?
Looks like it is for a different purpose to carry a portable folding tripod for the tow missle launcher instead of the camo net set up.
Maybe is also removable and used as a base for the tripod and launcher on sand and soft soil? Swag
