Hey.. It's not like I would chop off the rear axle or something like that.. And like I said. I would probably only do that if I found one with a bad engine. I wouldn't mess around with a fully functioning truck. I'd leave that for someone to restore.
Man.. I keep coming back here to look at those first pictures that you posted. And every time I look at this thread I want one of those more and more.. Such a sweet truck :)
I think I will have to try and find one someday as a companion for my M931A2. I really have no experience with a manual...
Same here where I live in Illinois. I think the scrap guys give $35 per 1000lbs. And some places won't even pay you for steel, unless you have over 1,000lbs. They'll usually just tell you to throw it in their bin.
I think I'm going to do my fuel filters soon as well, now that I have my oil change and trans fluid change out of the way. Everytime someone talks about replacing their fuel filter(s) they make a point to mention how nasty the old filters are :( I have no idea when mine were replaced.
Fair enough. I just thought it was odd, since my "factory" air inflator with glad hand adapter has the chuck right near the end like a regular car tire inflator. If the tire explosions were such an issue you would think that they would have ordered different ones.
^^^ What he said. I decided to swap out the oil for trans fluid after watching his video a while back, and I am glad that I did. Results were immediately noticeable :)
Glad to hear that the tours are going ok :naner:
Yeah that's a good idea. I did have a 1 quart container laying around, but I figured going up and down with it 20 times would be a pain. But maybe it would have worked out better.
Finally got my oil change done today.. REALLY need to buy myself some kind of transfer pump. Holding a 5 gallon bucket of oil over the engine bay, and carefully pouring it for 10 or 15 minutes is not enjoyable. Oil has not been done since the military did it in 2010, and it was pretty black. No...
