They do have diff locks. The biggest problem with the Ilitis off-road is the very tiny acent and decent angles; the overhang front and rear. They get hung up on almost everything. We have had 4 VW and one Bombardier. Great on the highway though.
Yes, as mentioned, a Ferret is a much better choice. I would not suggest a trailer on a Ferret however, unless it is carrying the spare transmission you will need in short order.

For that M75 engine, do yourself a BIG favor and put a civilian electronic ignition system on it. You can then run civilian plugs, but mostly, it will run SO much better. The GI is really weak. An Edelbrock 1406
carb is a must as well.
