new M416 trailer in the stable

Of course, if you wanted to keep it as a M416, you could talk to me about the spare tub that I have in the backyard... :) I also have a M762 (USMC varient) in the yard that is kinda/sorta looking for a home... Your project is comming right along, heck of a lot of work invested there.

    Dump Truck Running Poorly

I drove a M817 from OH to NC after a GL purchase a few years back. Had a buddy (AMGeneral) behind me in a M816 for the trip... We did the filter and fluid swap, changed out the fuel line from the filter to the pump, and straightlined around the selector switch. Truck still ran just as you...

    Where Can I Find

Charles at M Series Rebuild in Norwood, NC, had a huge pile of M101 rack hardware last time I was at his shop... The metal bits that he has are all steel, the wood and/or fiberglass has all been removed since he was salvaging trashed racks. He had the corner pieces, hinges, pins, stakes, etc...

Ye ole transfer case woes FIXED !

Good news! I've gotten into the habbit of sleaving and resealing the shafts on the t-cases of any M37 varient that comes into my yard as standard operating procedure... Amazing how much difference it makes, especially if you have a repowered truck and run down the highway often.

    Military or Civi wrecker?

I still kick myself for not purchasing a Navy IH Loadstar with a Holmes 750 on it a couple years ago... I paid slightly more recently for a M816 that will be a bit more useful for me ultimately, but it's not nearly as unique (nor as smooth a ride going down the road). Give it a good home if...

    towing a M100/M416 behind a deuce

I missed this thread the first time around, but will toss in one extra thought: The pintle on the 2.5 and five ton trucks rotate (3/4 ton like the M37's do as well for that matter...). The lunette ring on the 1/4 ton trailers rotate... I did once tow a M416 behind a XM813 for fifteen miles...

    2010 Haspin rally BS thread

Ferro and I are convoying out... We have "kinda/sorta" commitments from one person in western NC and one person in TN who want to ride out with us. Depending on how we route it, it might be good to run the route we did last year with you, or it may look better for us to take the "southern"...

    2010 Haspin rally BS thread

In an earlier post on this thread, it mentions that I will be catering (along with Ferro) again this year.... Once we get a little closer to the event, I'll post up the menu along with the cost info. That way you can decide if you want to opt in or not... I'll be driving my XM813 pulling...

    Gillespie Paint KY group buy

FWIW: I have purchased large quantities of paint from Mark at RAPCO in the past (personal use and group purchases). In each case, he discounted my per gallon cost quite a bit when the order got large... Also, as mentioned earlier, the truck rates were much lower for my entire purchase on a...

    M37 master cylinder updates

I run the Chevy dual circuit MC in all my M37 varients... (The link Tanner posted has all the parts and instalation info you need). Back when I was running with the stock MC in one of the trucks, I once had a wheel cylinder fail while pulling up to the pump at a truck stop...coasted to a stop in...

    Deuce RPM Questions

Keep in mind also that there is more than one speedo adapter (between the transfer case and the speedometer head) in use. Needed do to the use of different diameter tires by the military in OEM applications with the rest of the driveline and guage parts being the same in order to get correct...

Contact Rusty at International Tire and Tube (in Texas). I get all my tubes from him. Great service, and he knows exactly what you will need (he sells a LOT of tubes for guys with M37, M715, M35, and M809 series with radials...). rusty@ittusa.net 713-550-9377 713-973-8880 Their website is...

    9.00x20 Tire Question

It's no harder on the tires than using one of the duckbill wedges, or some of the other bead breakers (mechanical). It's a lot easier to hit them and miss the lockring than with a duckbill. They tend to slide and tuck under the ring so they don't gauge the tire or cut it. If you want to try a...

    GSA-Raleigh Pickup

I'm in Raleigh about four miles from the GSA yard, and am there about once a week... I can grab and snag (even if they don't run, but they do... I have seen them...). Two is not an issue either as I can grab one of the Sargents at the office to help out.

    9.00x20 Tire Question

I'll add some photos from my website from where I had to replaced a bad tube last fall (1100r16, but same principle...). You don't get the captions for each photo, but you can get the idea...
