SEE - Cold weather hydralic issues

Is it the pump or the belt that makes the noise?

SEE - Cold weather hydralic issues

I don't think it'd affect the force much, if any, but the speed.

That has to be because there's oil in the air system, and the selector valve is leaking. Does oil come out when draining the tanks, too?

FLU419 SEE, how much did you buy yours for? and some other questions

Ouch! Did you not know about this forum before starting the repairs, or did you not have time to deal with it yourself? I find SEEs very interesting to work on because it's so educational. I love to learn, and have never had a vehicle with so many different types of systems wrapped into one...

FLU419 SEE, how much did you buy yours for? and some other questions

Not a completely fair comparison as I needed a backhoe. So I bought a SEE, because I liked them better than a traditional backhoe. I also like '65 Cadillacs, and bought one. Does either make me any money? Of course not. But I like both, and the SEE is quite useful. Lastly, almost every time I...

I think a SEE could work well for what you have in mind. I wouldn't exactly refer to one as "high speed", but they are faster than many tractors. Smooth ride? Well, the suspension obviously helps a lot, but keep in mind that the tires are only about 40 inches tall, so they don't soak up bumps...

As a rainy day project, I finally got around to make 20-foot extension hoses for the tool reel. Now my projects will likely require 41 feet of reach, not just 21 feet.

I would try to figure out why you don't get air to the tank that supplies the trailer valve before worrying about the valve itself. At least I'd think it works that way.

Brent, I sounds like you already found the problem. If memory serves me, that rear tank is for the trailer brakes. Good luck, and welcome!

So now you, too, are curious about what the relay that the switch (now wire) activates? I need to look into what's going on with the HMMH's air system. The last two times I've used it, the unloader keeps "puffing" every 10 seconds or so. Obviously the air isn't getting to the tanks as it...

FLU419 Owner/Operators in KC, Omaha, Des Moines Area?

Take a road trip, Ed. I have found that I need at least a weekly SEE (backhoe) fix, so I'd gladly let you dig a hole here, just for the heck of it. As long as I get to do some digging, too, that is.

FLU419 Owner/Operators in KC, Omaha, Des Moines Area?

Welcome, Ed. You may want to check with General Hood, who's in Oklahoma. Not that I can vouch for his skills as an operator, but he's a nice guy and his SEE does run every now and then. Or, you can seek out the nearest Case 580C backhoe, then imagine it being mounted on a small raft. At least...

That's what I thought it was supposed to do. But I don't have a clue about what positions the light switch levers should be in, or what moon phase we need, or whatever else it takes to make it work - or to test it. I do remember reading that it'd take a while after depressing the test switch...

Using my SEE for real work

That's usually how it works for me, too.

Forgot about that part. But I'm running regular summer grade...with anti-gel additive, of course.

SEE - Cold weather hydralic issues

I haven't has any issues running the snow blower (off the rear hydraulics) with regular AW32. Of course, I can't remember what the coldest temperature has been - not all the way down to -20, as I recall, but at least around zero. Running the backhoe in the morning after a single digit night...

A year or two ago somebody mentioned the possibility of a second warning beeper, somewhere in the system. Well, when taking apart the switch box for the loader and high rpm to fix a switch, guess what I found? That means that the backup alarm one can go bye bye, and there may still be a warning...

Good snow chains are our friend. Those Michelins on snow are not.

Got a very old and stubborn irrigation pipe dug out today. The lesson learned is to do this kind of stuff before the ground is frozen.
