    Coolant Tank Keeps Cracking!

Wind pulled down a big oak tree 4 houses down which snapped 3 light poles like twigs down my street. Unfortunately my electrical service ripped off wall. Need new panel. Meter pan. Down pipe And all the goodies. With that. Suspect I will be down for a while. Good news is that I found...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Just a note of caution that they do not fit a truck with no armour. They will need to be modified and stick out much further out from fender. I do have a correct used one in New Orleans but will not ship if anyone is visiting the big easy.

    Coolant Tank Keeps Cracking!

Just a make you feel better suggestion. Make sure oil dipstick is just showing oil and no water ( typically looks like a chocalate shake) to make sure head gasket ok and no cracks/gremlins. Is temperature running normal? I have seen weird things in the civy world as pressure needs to go...

m116a1 ? Trailer Salad- What is it?

Interesting that the data plate calls it a m116a1 and references the tm for them. Most of the tires of that era used by the military were tube type is my guess.

m116a1 ? Trailer Salad- What is it?

It is probably a real special purpose build with very few made. I have a different radar trailer flat bed of another m116 salad build that has serial number 21 that I pulled home from Ft. Rucker. 900 x16 Tires scared me as they were 60's dated but rock solid since they are I think 16 ply or...

    Myth busting- Batteries

I have experienced the stated failure twice since I got mine. Don't know why as I am also m998 stock with 60amp and no 12v accessories. I do have a solargizer. Just a few months ago, I replaced the bad battery and rotated. Maybe I just had bad luck .... :-(

    M1097A2 Oil Pressure on startup

I looked at their website and was surprised that it used the OE sender. In my parts selling days a lifetime ago, aftermarket gauges normally used their own unique senders. It does say that the gauge has a micro processor built in. Maybe it has a slight delay but that is a guess on my part? They...

    M1097A2 Oil Pressure on startup

    Fan Solenoid replacement

Both are approximately a 10w viscosity with different additive packages. Power stg fluid has anti foam additives and ATF has additives suitable for internal transmission clutches, valves, etc. A little mixing of both won't be the end of the world. Different topic, but 5 ton's routinely have...
