You need to convince somebody at GL to fill out a "dealer reasignment form" . It is a form used by both VA and NC (I used to live in one and still have familly and business ties there, and now live in the other and thus have some idea about this...) for a dealer (in this case GL) to tell the...
Have you checked your local heavy truck shop? I haven't priced them recently, but I know the Fleetpride (former Stone Heavy Duty), and the local manufacture specific dealers and shops in my area have them...
Good luck.
I'm out of stock on M35's for sale, and the other guys have given you some great "local" sources... Consider joing the NCMVPA when you get your rig and joing us for events in the area (and some not so close such as the Convoy to Aberdeen). Lastly, give me a ring when you do get a truck if...
Re: Nice stuff!!
If you want a R2 Crash Truck to restore, send me a PM and I'll put you in touch with a local gentleman who has one in need of a good home. His truck is located just north of Creedmore, NC, and I have a bunch of photos on my website...
Photos of Ron's truck are numbers 13-56...
While preping my '83 M35A2C for the Veterans' Day parade this past weekend, I noticed that I have a drip comming off my number two injector at the fitting on the plastic line that ties it to the number three injector... I put a wrench on it and tightened the fitting a tad and it slowed the...
Frank,
Please put it in the collection of stuff that you are putting together for me. I'll make a run down your way sometime this month (have to check the work schedule)...
What I don't use on my project, I'll pass on to Bjorn...
Thanks,
You are alert Bjorn!
The M274A5 is the only Mule in the series to have an aluminum deck instead of magnesium. It is also the only one to ship from the factory with two wheel steer (although you can convert it to four wheel steer using parts from any of the earlier models, and I plan to on...
Re: RE: Got a M274A5 (and put it in the Veterans
The Mule really is a lot of fun, and folks crowded around it after the parade :)
The guys with the Huey also have a dustoff that they had in last year's parade and I have been talking to them about hauling it behind my M37 instead of using the...
This thread has been (and is) very helpful and informative to me as I will soon be putting paint on my '68 M274A5 Mule. The A5 Mules have aluminum decks, and mine is pretty bare right now...
I'll be posting photos and sharing info as I go along, and am looking forward to comparing finished...
I finally managed to get myself a Mule ('68 Bayfield M2745A5 last reworked at Ft. Campbell in 1981) along with a bunch of parts (like the four wheel steering conversion and a set of spare tires, ect.)
After installing a new fuel pump, changing oil, replacing a few air line rubber bits (all...
Great looking truck. HATE that I ended up having to work all day Thursday and that the yard was closed on Friday as I really wanted to slide over and help you with the truck... Glad that it turned out to be in such good shape!
RE: Is this split rim ok to remove from truck?
Since it hasn't cut loose yet (I presume that you have been driving the truck and honked on it a bit while taking the outer tire off, the wheel most likely will be fine for you to take off... But, pull the valve stem out, let the air go out...
Most folks that I know who want the combat rims for a M37 (installed as original equipment on a very few of the early production trucks in actuality) like them for the looks, or figure that it is easier to change tires at home/field then with the stock GY-LTS style lock rims on the OEM Budd...
I had (still have, but I removed the generator, gas tank, racks) a M101A1 that was set up as a generator trailer. Dataplate on it still called it a M101A1, and it had a tag saying that it had been converted to a generator trailer at Toole, Utah (and gave a warenty phone number...), but it did...
Dang.... And there I was at the show in Greensboro with my M37 and M274A5 telling folks that I figured that you just had to go into work... If I had known that you were having THAT much fun, I'd 'of hit the road and come on up to your place to join in... :)
Hope that they moring...
Let us know what you find out when you talk about fab'ing up some rims (especially if you can share photos, dimensions, prices, etc for inclusion on my website).
Most likely your brakes will be ok once they get wet again, but...
The original setup works well when the shoes are properly...
I'll admit that I have not tried to back a towed duece with a duece using one of my bars (managed to only have to go forward each time I done the towbar routine with them, but I have backed both 1/4 and 3/4 ton vehicles with both my M37 (3/4 ton) and M35a2C (2.5 ton) with no problems..
I will...
