Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: M37-B1 Wiring
Good news. Let us know when the parts get in and I'll walk you through the installations (there are a couple of tips that will make more sense when you have the lights and harness in hand that will save you some time and skinned knuckles...).
The "preferred" rim is the stock one...
Not a whole lot of folks have a single piece wheel with the correct bolt pattern/offset. Stocton and BFR make wider rims in a larger diameter that will fit (big $$), Bryan Sage in Colorado does a nice conversion plate for the LAV rims that recently got...
Saturn Surplus has/had the rear leg for the trailers and may have the front ones as well (I haven't looked at their on-line inventory lists in a while...).
For bows, just get a set of corners from somebody like Army Surplus Warehouse (or Ebay) and fab up the wood pieces using locally sourced...
Re: RE: Looking to get M105 trailer from FT Riley Kansas to
I know the seller... I suspect that if it does not sell on Ebay that he would entertain offers... and, he routinely goes to Aberdeen... Not sure if he visits this site often or not.
Re: RE: Looking to get M105 trailer from FT Riley Kansas to
Well, you gotta be a little different to collect these things... and we understand since we do too...
What is so special about the tailer that you'd want to purchase one in Kansas instead of one closerto you??
They have been selling off a number of these at Bragg and LeJeune that have been in nice condition the last several months... If you are no hurry to get it, you could snag one in NC...
Re: RE: M37-B1 Wiring
Thanks, and yes, you have the quantities right...
I would suggest that you add a relay to at least the high beam side (or better yet, splice one in between the three lever light switch and the dimmer switch so that it powers high and low headlights) so that you don't...
RE: M37-B1 Wiring
Hella H4 with the E-code lenses are the way to go...
Part numbers, sources, and instalation tips are located at:

Their is a little metal 'box' on top of the pump cover/pickup plate on the top of the tank. The electrical harness plucgs into it. Remove the screws, left the cover, and you will see the fuse inside (the cover).
Let me know when you head to Bragg... I'm just down the road in Raleigh...
Hey man, I was commenting on being one of the other vehicles you got to tow (M37 and M101A1)... :)
Ditto on a firm date and time to peak at the wrecker at Bragg...
I just head over to my local parts store and stock up on raw line and bend them myself... One of the dealers (Midwest Military?) had line sets at one time, but by the time you get them and tweak them into place, you might as well get a decent bender and do them yourself. That way, you also...
Post the route as soon as you figure it out. I'll be running up and down I40 between Raleigh, Hickory, and back to Raleigh in my Cummins powered M37 with the M101A1 and will keep my eyes peeled for you...
Hey, I resemble that remark...
I too keep the tag in the cab and not on the truck... I don't like to confuse folks, and in NC we get to use "year of manufacture tags with the tag of current registratio available for inspection upon demand" and I figuret that the USMC number on the tailgate is...
I've used some other harnesses, but the ones at Vintage Wiring or Maine really are nice, and the documentation that is supplied with a new harness and the customer service really are a cut above. Frank is right about making sure that he has the right year if you are doing a restoration...
I sent in a PM to you right now a bit that I will post here for the rest to see as well... My brother has driven two vehicles from Raleigh to Colorado Springs that I have purchased for him (his money) and both times has picked up a short term (ten days) carboard tag from NCDMV for the trip...
I've had people tell me that they have parted out better trucks then my first one (and favorite-the Cummins powered one)...
Take a gander at what I started with at:
http://www.garbee.net/~cabell/photosa.htm
How it looks now:
http://www.garbee.net/~cabell/convoy2005/ecc115.jpg
The M37 had two production runs... 1951-1956 and 1958-1968 (if my memory serves...). Bassically they are the same truck with a couple of minor differences that, considering depot rebuilds/MWO applications/modifications by various owners, make them a confused jumble similar to most other M...
Let me know when you make the trip. I'm over in Raleigh (just over an hour away)...
A buddy of mine who just got back from Iraq may also be able to help out, he usually snags stuff that I win from Bragg for me, especially since he turns wrenches on Uncle Sugar's vehicles for a living...
