Every truck in that top picture has its windshield down
One day I'll do that with my truck. I wish the cab top framing was as easy as a Jeep, though.
That sounds familiar, except I got away with not using tire soap or butter! The only thing I did differently with the clamp ring is that I flipped the wheel over on two tires (one on each "end" of the tire) with the rim in it clamp ring side up. Then I used a jack and a few blocks to jack the...
Are you using the ratchet straps to pull the rim into the tire? I did mine by first seating the rim while it was standing upright, then flipping the wheel onto either blocks or old tires rimside-up and jumping on the rim until it finished getting seated.
I think @Barrman meant the truck was a REO design.
I always thought it would be cool to have a Curtis-Wright gasser, then I could say it's an airplane at heart :p
Thanks for measuring that! It seems the military super singles have about a 0.5" sidewall regardless of tire size. The 14.5R20 and 395/85R20 have the same sidewall thickness as what you measured.
I hope the rest of your tires come off easily! If you can get the remainder off the rim without...
I found that a Harbor Freight bi-metal reciprocating saw blade can cut through two tires before losing enough teeth to become ineffective :ROFLMAO: I remember having melted rubber gum up the blade too, but I found that improving my cutting technique helped with that!
Looking at the way you...
I think the only differences between the M34 and M35 are the cargo bed (M34 bed sat lower and had wheel wells for the bigger singles) and the singles. That said, the hubs can be flipped on all the M39, M45, M809, and M939 trucks to go from duals to singles. The M35 with flipped hubs can take...
Nice pics! If it says M34 on the data plate, it should've been a cargo truck with an 12'x8' bed. Otherwise it looks like it should've been a tractor or dump truck. The M44 dump truck was called the M47, and I don't think a tractor was made on the M44 chassis.
It's also entirely possible that...
The personal use license lasts for three years, at which point you can re-apply for it. Unless Autodesk decides that it's losing money for them :p I hope that won't be the case. I've been using Fusion 360 for four years for free, reapplying for the personal use license, and hope it stays that...
That's the one thing that sucks about it - file storage is on Autodesk's cloud. You can save STLs and PDF drawings locally on your computer.
The personal use license allows hobbyists and small businesses to use the software for free. There are some functions that are behind a paywall, but I...
I've been using Autodesk CAD products for years - vanilla AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Inventor, and most recently Fusion 360.
In the past few years I've been 3D printing, Fusion 360 has been my go-to software for designing practical parts and trinkets alike. I've decided to share my experience...
I don't think I'd want to try that without putting safety chains around the wheel center and rim, or a wheel cage. I'd hate for that thing to launch and break something.
Duckbill hammer or flat end of a pick axe works too. But if you have no reason to keep the tire intact, just sawzall it off...
I was seriously considering a Prusa printer, but I didn't think the value was there compared to the Ender 5 Plus I bought, even though the Creality machine has the shortcomings of other Chinese-built printers out of the box. One thing about the Ender 5 family of Creality printers that I really...
I wondered about that. I think it's one thing cutting a fuel tank open to do a treatment coating and weld it back together. But an air tank that's at 120 psi? That sounds like a problem waiting to happen.
