Looking for someone to ship a passenger van

I just bought a GMC Savana 3500 extended frame passenger van. It's located at a yard in Delta, OH and has the following dimensions: Transport Dimensions: 238" L x 96" W x 80" H Shipping Weight: 7000 lbs It needs to be transported to a residential address about a half-hour south of Rochester...

Flip a switch to use gas?

I'll have to remember that. I've always parked stuff with manual transmissions in gear, even my dad's WW2 and Korean-era gassers. But diesel doesn't need an on switch to work unless there's an electric fuel shut-off solenoid valve.

Less than 18 months and under 1,000 miles my axle boots failed.

I'm sticking with zipper boots so that when this does happen I don't have to take the front end apart at shorter intervals than actually needed :) In the mean time make sure those knuckles are greased. My boots are torn too and I can at least see they're well-greased :D

Do you have slow leakers on your truck too?

M35A3 underhood insulation rivets - size?

I actually didn't realize the M35A2 trucks didn't have those handles! Although the steel hood is kinda heavy it's really easy to lift by standing on the fender and grabbing the side handle to pick up.

M35A3 underhood insulation rivets - size?

Here are a couple pictures of my truck's hood. I really need to wash it o_O

M35A3 underhood insulation rivets - size?

I'll try to get pictures later today since I don't actually have any pictures of the top of my truck's hood! Usually any time I'm up there the hood's up, and I can't usually see the top of the hood unless I'm driving since my truck's hood is a few inches higher than the top of my head :p What...

M35A3 Rim Restoration and Tire Swap Project (Picture-Heavy)

Spring update! I just got the truck out of hibernation and checked the tire pressure. All but two tires held air. Over five months, one lost 7 psi, and another lost 15 psi. They were all originally aired up to 45. So I have two tires losing 0.05-0.1 psi per day. I don't think that's...

    Chrysler XM-410

That's cool! At first I thought it looked like a wheeled version of the M548, but then I saw this thread where a member here had a running gasser example: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/xm-410-need-info.77572/

M35A3 underhood insulation rivets - size?

I brought my truck out of hibernation today. While checking the engine compartment fluids, I paid special attention to the underside of my truck's hood. Through an oddly-placed hole in the insulation, it looks like it had some black coating applied before the insulation was installed. As the...

Giving up the Tornado in my 67 M715

Didn't the Jeep Gladiator have a different motor in it that was more reliable. I thought the Tornado was a lousy motor Jeep had a warehouse full of and they decided to dump them in the Army's trucks. Would any kind of diesel fit in the M715?

New to me Deuce with matching trailer - wrenching post

It's an annoying process having to get your money back but at least it'll happen eventually. At least you have all this documented! So far I've only bought from Big Mike's and Erik's. They've been kind enough to work with me on shipping smaller parts for lower rates :)

    Motor Pool Addition M109

I really like the PDFs, especially the newer ones that allow for the use of word searching. If I need to reference part of the TM while I'm working, I just print what I need (double-sided to save paper!) and bring it out to the truck with me. If I get grease on it to the point I can't read it...

    Motor Pool Addition M109

I think everything you need is in the big M35A2 operators' manual. I believe that covers most body styles the truck came with.

    New Owner!

Congratulations on your new-to-you truck! I really enjoy my M35A3 and hope you do too! Also... nopics Make sure you have all the M35A2 TMs as well since the M35A3 TMs make a lot of references to the A2 books. Anything different from the M35A2 is going to be in the M35A3 TMs. Anything...

M36a3 who has one? How rare are they?

I'm not sure anyone knows how many are left. I know some went to Lebanon, maybe other countries in the Middle East. And some were just salvage or parted out. No one is exactly sure how many of the ESP trucks were built, let alone how many of each type built, besides that no serial numbers...

M36a3 who has one? How rare are they?

I'd LOVE to have something like that in the back of an M36! Though I think height clearance driving down the road to a car show may be an issue :p

M36a3 who has one? How rare are they?

Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office - the part of the DoD that surpluses stuff. That's a nice truck. I really enjoy my M35A3 and would love an M36A3 to go with it. Someday! :driver: With how rare they are I'm more likely to get a wrecker first, no matter what my wife says :p

M36a3 who has one? How rare are they?

I'd freakin' trade you a truck to bob for that thing! Or you can sell it and use the money to buy a LMTV which is basically a newer deuce bobbed from the factory. Like everyone else here has said the M36A3 is pretty rare. I'd say the M109A4 trucks are there with it. Does that truck...

New to me Deuce with matching trailer - wrenching post

That's more than enough. An empty 2 1/2-ton truck's front axle supports about 6000 lbs while each rear axle supports about 4000 lbs. The data plates will tell you for sure what the weight distribution is. I was able to use a 4-ton jack to lift each side of each axle to place an appropriate...
