What were these trainers used for?.
I know the Danish army contingent in Iraq etc used US Navy Cougar HEV 6x6 as actual units when deployed. But we had 1-2 Cougar JERRV's located at the Army Combat Training Centre to be used for driver training and familiarisation. While not trained on one I...
Reversing with double pivots are a pain. I mean I got the hang of it during my certification, but haven't reversed a double since. Going forward is easy enough and they turn nice and tight, but don't ask me to reverse one around a bend or in a straight line :P
I mean the boom extensions :P. But thanks for clearing that up. I have a crane operator license for any and all cranes as long as they are selfdriven :D. But only recently so I am very curious :P
I am sadly without a military vehicle yet :P. Guess I might have to settle for one of the old Military MC's or cross my fingers for getting my own MP Military bike down the road :P
My idea "dream" would be fitting a proper Knuckle boom crane aka Palfinger, HMF, Fassi etc on my military truck of choice. I know it won't be cheap and it will limit my choice of MV's since some of these cranes are pretty hefty beasts.
Considering the Deuces I tend to favour the A2 over the A3 because I would always prefer a MultiFuel over a Diesel engine, being situated close to a refinery and several fastfood joints and mechanics I would be able to get oil for free from :P. Downside is missing out of a automatic and power...
Welcome from the northern reaches of Europe otherwise known as Denmark :P. I haven't got a MV yet but I am looking at procuring one sooner rather than later.
Cant say for the MTVR-7. But here if i do a triple difflock, and half the truck is on ice and the other half is on asphalt then I would easily pull away since every axle is locked to turn at the same speed at both wheels. The HMMV should too due to its Torsen Diffs.
Most if not all of our military vehicles have 4x4 or AWD and are capable of at least locking the center diff, some can lock the rear diff and then more or less all of our trucks can do a full lockup of all the axles. And then we have dedicated off road vehicles like the G Wagon, Eagles etc that...
