Well perhaps not a steel one. But I have seen trucks drive around with a plastic/carbonfibre stick attached to each corner of their vehicle to know where the corners are. Serves the same purpose as the steel "bar", just a lot safer and lighter to deal with :P
Scott,
Don't hold me to the actual number. But when I was going through G-wagon classification in March, one of the other students asked about the landies and was told by one of the instructors that the landies proved more expensive overall compared to the G-Wagons. And that the danish armed...
The Danish Armed Forces uses the landies sparingly. We have very very few still running and in operation. They proved too expensive and not suited a long time ago. Most of the few that remain are garrison security issue and not speched out with camoflage etc. Generally speaking the danish forces...
I would think the 12 seconds on non-lubrication at start might also be a contributing factor. I am thinking whether adding "no runback" filters, new rods AND rod bolts will actually stave off the dreaded ventilated block issue. It whether it will still just be a moment of time before the block...
My last company car had the full parking suite with sensors and a visual readout on the dash when I reversed or was going forwards at a slow speed. As much as I hate to admit it, I actually liked it since it was a nice bit of reassurance to have ;). My "new" did come with parking sensors...
Really good videos and I bet you had fun :). I do have a few comments tho
1:
I was taught that when doing a field or roadside recovery with a recovery strap, that you are generally better off recovering going forward due to the fact that your engine+transmission is setup to provide more torque...
Amen to that. When doing these kinds of deals from afar nothing would beat having boots on the ground. If I was more mobile and had the budget for it I wouldn't have any issues travelling to the old east block to inspect vehicles etc ie to ascertain whether they actually run or look as...
Well our gun laws are most likely just as crazy as yours I would think. But I mean there is no harm in asking, the worst they can say is that it has to be a UK Dealer, but fingers crossed that a EU Dealer might suffice if from certain countries etc.
I love how people say the engines are too weak :P. Our present line-up of military transport trucks doesn't have more power then a Deuce has <.<. I think most of our trucks tops out at around 240 HP max for the bigger ones.
Correction 370-400 is the max but thats for the heavier hauling trucks...
Neil, does it HAVE to be a UK arms dealer, or is it acceptable as long as its another arms dealer located inside the EU Region?. If any EU arms dealer is acceptable then I might try and call around and see if I might be able to help you out from across the north sea :)
Present day vehicles with MF capabilities (Possibly more, but these i know for certain):
- US M1 Ambrams has a turbine multifuel engine
- German Leopard I+II's has a conventional multifuel engine thats is more economical then the turbine (Leo2's has a rated output of 1,500 HP)
So to say that...
Shaped charges is and well always be a preferred measure to beat armour. It just sucks that the taliban now has the knowledge and means to fabricate this kind of improvised munitions, but such is life. Adapt, overcome, Survive.
Heath, some posts before yours he actually says he is intending to keep it in the garage, as the policy requires :), so technically there is no evidence of fraud or evidence of intention to commit fraud.
