1st, do what nyoffroad suggested.
2nd, the stock rotors/calipers at front vs. the now bigger WCs (and drums) on the 14-bolt may cause a braking action imbalance, front/rear. That is, dragging your rear tires every time you need to stop fast...
In that case I would try to find WCs with a smaller...
No, this is about the M35 and we are talking about the Spicer transmissions for the Deuce, here.
If the OP ends up swapping his "Gold Comet" with a Multi he will have to replace his 3052 (5th direct) with something else, with at least 25% OD.
Easiest would be the Spicer 3053 (or 3053A) and...
I can't tell what transmission you have...
AFAIK .85 OD did exist - in the civilian world and way back in time when dinosaurs were alive...)
But fact is that the military has never put anything other than the 0.79 version behind the Multifuel.
Sorry but who ever told you that has never been inside a 3053 and actually counted teeth...
Also the TMs do have mistakes, but regarding the speed ratios of both, 3052 and 3053 transmissions, the info is accurate and correct.
Yes, correct...! It has been done countless times, and not only by the military.

The HMMWV wheel is 8-¼ wide and has a backspace of ~7", compared to your std wheel with only 5" BSp.
That's why people use 2" spacers when running stock HMMWV wheels & tires on a M1008.
In your case, a 1" spacer would be as much as you need, I think. And maybe only on the rears. (?)
Lol... And I took it literally - hoping to learn something new there, eventually...
Yes, the engine tends to stop at the same spot, every time. So, it's usually only a couple teeth, that are affected.
Over the time I have been able to save/restore more than one of these flexplates, by welding...
In a cup, with a paint brush, make some good, stable foam with water + kitchen soap and apply around valve stem and other suspicious areas.
Check for bubbles growing...
FWIW, regarding actual dimensions mentioned in that linked post: neither 4" or 4.25" is correct (!)
4.375" will barely fit, so better make it 1/16th larger.
And the net width of the 4 "legs" should be 2.0", not less.
Too loose fit is not an issue here; too tight is.....
Pictured below is what I...
Problem is you got the wrong wheels, with too much backspace .
If you really wanted aluminum, you need this one:
