    395/85R20 tires for Deuce

Only the 20-bolt MRAP steel wheels (with a 1/2" adapter plate) will pretty much line up, mounted that way. This one: But with the 12-bolt version - which have a backspace of about 11" - the difference is 3". Meaning, the track width at the rears would be 6" more than front.

    395/85R20 tires for Deuce

The Deuce front axle measures 79" between wheel mounting flanges/hubs, while the rears (for duals) are 10" narrower. Your "distance" depends on what wheels you mounted your 395s on. Like 10" wheels with a backspace of about 8", mounted (dished out) on non-flipped rear hubs, will give you...

    I think that's a "hummmmmmaybe yes" ?? ;-)

M 172 semi trailer parts list

Yes, I saw that one. But I was hoping to find the info without having to pay for it... Thank you, that one sure helped! From the description and many pictures it seems that what I just built is exactly what it had from factory. (talk about reinventing the wheel...!) Exactly... and yes, it's...

    Flywheel questions

Both those flywheels are identical in diameter, as well as shape and number of teeth (139), so both work the same for a stock starter. The difference is the diameter of the recess in the center: the 6.5 FW measures ~8.5", vs. ~6.5" on the 6.2 FW . Reason for it is, the 6.5 clutch disc takes a...

M 172 semi trailer parts list

Yeah, regarding obsolete TMs I actually thought about you...;-) That would be great if you could dig up something.

M 172 semi trailer parts list

Resurrecting this very old one.... I'm currently working on this old-but-good M172 (attached dataplate, below): hubs are getting new bearings and more modern seals. Also machined the non-original, wrong (course ! ) thread studs to work with regular L-R 1⅛-16 thimbles & nuts, to then accept...

What wheels are on your humvee?

Guess the term "fitting" should be better defined....

What wheels are on your humvee?

Mogman is right: stock wheels are 8.25" wide and have a +54 offset. With the wheels you just ordered the distance between outer (tire) sidewalls will be almost 6 inches more than stock.

    M880

True, but it's relatively easy to tell them apart since there is a significant difference in size, besides the "70" cast in the housing (And contrary to what many say, their covers are not interchangeable - even if the bolt pattern is the same for both)

    M880

Exactly that is what I was told (and yet had to confirm): that there are at least two different hub designs, and that the bearings are not the same, for both. Also, the brake shoes on one are 2.5" wide and the other one has 3" shoes. Fact is that the std drums that came with 2.5" will accept...

I'm assuming they all had #60s (?) So, what has changed and how to id that heavier axle?

    Blowing Bubbles

Reason enough... 1) Obviously the heads were ground with the cups still in place! 2) They should have seen that crack and pressure tested, at least! Cyl 2 also shows some suspicious spots. Maybe take a closer look to the areas encircled...
