Okay, I already have an SF-97 in hand with no year on it. Different situation!
Looks like I will be going to Texas Facilities Commission tomorrow to get them to have the SF-97 revised by GSA. If they won't, I'll exchange for a different M1097R1 and make sure it has a year stamped on it.
Yeah, got it from the state. I don't care about the actual year of the truck in reality. I just wanted clarification on how the OP contacted Austin DPS to get it squared away as my tax office can't handle a year not being in there, it might be a challenge. Then when they call the district...
Can you elaborate? I'm in somewhat of the same situation but I got mine directly from Texas Facilities Commission. I don't want to wait on something still like a new SF-97. If I can call & let them know it's some year, I'd be fine.
You still want to service it with a complete kit. If one went bad, the others will. And getting the correct o-ring on there is important or it will fail quickly. I did that. Use what you have to get it going for now but rebuild it fully. It's not worth getting stuck with it leaking when you need...
Are you sure they worked? Do you hear the relays clicking? The hazard switch is missing. If it was replaced with a single pole switch from another spot like it looks like it may have, it may not let any of the signal lights work properly. You need the proper hazard light switch hooked up for...
I'm generally really good. The first three letters off assume got me on this one, I fully admit it. I ignored the warning.
Luckily this was more of a time costly mistake than a money one. And I learned what not to do, all be it the hard way.
I saw that & it says it on the panel even. It is toast! Just figured it would dump the load like previous generators if it was to much. Guess not. I confirmed it. You just get a little yellow warning. So be warned.
Exciter coil was 12.3 ohm.
I agree that I think things just got toasty in there & it's done. Tried the other DCS & I at least confirmed it is good & does what it should.
I didn't think it would be an issue running it that high as I have done it many times on the older units. If it was to...
Answering you questions in red;
It went to 12v or so then cut out once it faulted.
Plugging J90 back in.
I found the steps in the TM for testing the exciter coil and other stuff, just have not done it yet as I didn't have time yesterday evening. Plan to get to that as soon as I can.
After testing the AVR in from the DCS, I believe it may not be working correctly.
CB's tested okay & were not tripped. Pulled them to test.
Using the information from the link to the thread I posted in post #19, I tested for DC voltage at J90. At idle, I saw nothing. Only after the engine...
I wasn't saying the white smoke came from the electrical issue, I said it was from unburnt fuel due to an abrupt shutdown after running WOT. Similar to wet stack. I have started it a few times since & no smoke at all now.
My thoughts exactly. I have a lot to learn with this new platform, but it would not make sense that it would only put a warning on the screen instead of open the contractor, unless the battle short was on.
Reading the TM, it does say something about setting for the Warning, so I wonder if it is...
Bit of a setback today.
So, I had everything going alright with my 6 hours test. Only issue was the AUX fuel pump didn't kick in but I left that to a back connection I made during replacement.
At 1hr 20min to go, it shut down due to overtemp. It was the pre-overtemp... basically the 240deg...
I'm noticing the TM sucks for part numbers. It seems like they pulled a random number from the supply list when making it.
Can't for the life of my fund the engine side vibration mounts. While I'm doing work, I want to replace them so I can just use this machine & not have them fail. Part...
