If it is shutting off at different times, the paw/spring that holds the lever is just worn out. Has nothing to do with that cable at the bottom. Replace the assembly, it's like $34-$40 and you should be fine. The vibration of the motor is causing it to let loose like you are releasing the stop...
I'm not justifying the cost, but the LTAS cab is nothing like the old retrofit kits armor kits. It actually is not bad inside, has more visibility in some sense than even the regular cab, and they all have HVAC, nice seats, so on. When they come from Oshkosh, they do well as they're balanced...
I already knew I'd like them, but driving the truck above at over 70mph down Highway 90 in south Texas & is being easier to talk than 58mph in my truck... wow! I have a basic model vs an A1, but no doubt, the fact you can roll at basically idle is so nice. Great to meet another owner that's not...
Sorry to derail a bit, but looks like you are not far from me. I'd love to see the difference first hand, as well as get together with another LMTV owner. If you are up for it, reach out. If not, not hard feelings!
Everyone,
I have been selling this for a while on my eBay store & never shared it here. I did share the video I made of it when I installed the first one on my truck with the help of @Ronmar in finding the solution. With starting a little business, I wanted to put everything together in a...
Bump. I recently updated the CTIS wheel valve rebuild kits. Added items to rebuild the valve stem at no extra cost. I finally found a reliable vendor for parts & have made a bulk order, so I should have these in stock for a good while.
Bump. For some reason, eBay was glitching with the promotional shipping rate so it's removed, but the new Ground service is significantly cheaper so costs have gone down a lot. I also got some better packaging & tweaked weights a bit. All links should be updated. If by change you find a dead...
Thank you for the final suggestions. I ended up letting it sit for a while. A friend ended up being interested & I made a trade deal, so they have it now and are going to dig in. Going to share this thread with them so they can get the details on exactly what I did better than off the top of my...
Someone put a different injection pump into the one that is different. Yanmar has different part numbers for the different injections pumps, depending on what side the fuel comes in.
Sorry I'm late to the party here.
Been a while since I pulled an injector on one of these little buggers.
It is still in there, yes. It is kind of a silverish thing with a seal at the bottom.
The copper washer... I think they don't have to be in there. They are only needed if required to get...
Well, after almost a year, GovPlanet finally sent me the title for the trailer. So, that will motivate me to get this moving a bit more.
Still not sure I want to keep it or sell it since the 4th child is due any day now, but I will make up my mind once the shelter is solid on the trailer.
I wanted to revive this old thread in case anyone is still watching.
I kept some of the parts when I parted this out. One of the was the potentiometer for the voltage adjustment. I grabbed it from my parts bin to use on something & went to use it with no luck. Tested it, and it was dead...
I could have sworn I came back to update since the last post....
I ended up adding a 12v Solergizer just to keep the new battery I put on happy after blowing up the other one!
It was out at my cabin for another year! Didn't use it much, but got almost up to 60 hours on it.
Brought it back...
In regard to 60+mph vibration... these wheels suck. I'm no ultra expert, but these wheels are NOT perfect round or even. I bet if you do like I did & put some sort or camera under your truck looking at your axle when driving, it will show you just that. Or, how much a dump troop didn't make sure...
Not to take away from the OP, but I ended up making a video going over the FMTV bed cover & troop seats. Going to share for anyone else that finds themselves in this post looking for information down the road.
Not being rude, but I'd be more worried about having the truck where you lived legally before the odometer. CA needs DPF on all diesel highway vehicles now, with only a few exceptions. Miles really isn't relevant anyways. You buying it and driving it across the country is more miles than it's...
