What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

If you want it to keep water out of the air cleaner make sure you get the elbow... The airbox where the intake is attached to the duckbill is not sealed. There is a small hole right above the cabin air intake louvers. Details are in the install instructions for the fording kit.

    HMMWV Overheat Q's and pictures

Diesel are different than gas. They like the increased heat to some degree. You're not far from me, take you gal out today for a 40 mile drive. You should feel and hear the fan kick in. Or if you just want to see what it's like to have the fan run, unplug the time delay module to make the fan...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Would you be so kind as to measure the voltage output on the three prongs of the round solar panel connector that goes to the push to test box? i.e. is one ground, one 12v and the other 24v and which is which...

    24v to 12v converter?

I have one of the pulsetech distribution boxes too. they are NICE! but I have a 200A dual volt alternator so running the 12v off that box will not be an issue. plus it has their vodoo circuitry to help keep the batteries maintained...

    Juan's M998 HMMWV

Does the PDB have a 12V converter inside in addition to the pulse feature? Also what are the types of connectors for the accessory voltage out wiring? Is that just some standard automotive bullet connector? It looks like you have the PTT box, have you opened the box to reverse engineer it...

Not one bit of I told you so from this guy: I bet you had fun even with the bumps!

What do you keep on M998 for self recovery?

Regarding the second battery, in my opinion you should only need one if you are in a hurry to recover. Winch slowly and you should be fine letting the alternator do it's thing to the rear battery if you have the dual voltage alternator. I've seen 6TL batteries rated from 120AH to over 200AH...

    Engine oil flush

If you are worried, add seafoam before change while its warm, run her for 30 minutes to desludge. Change oil and filter. Add bestline oil treatment and follow normal PM schedule. I remember reading that one of the engines has a lower section in the oilpan that may not get drained all the way...

Regarding no pressure, make sure the gauge works. Disconnect the wire for the gauge at the pressure sender at the back of the motor... the gauge will go max.

ENGINE TEMP - How high is too high

One thing to watch for that I have seen on multiple trucks is out of the blue, I look at the temp gauge after some time of running and it's pegged. I stop the truck, shutdown and start again and the temp is normal.... I cannot figure out a way to reproduce this, it has just happened 3 out of...
