I went and did a test today to answer this question. This was a real actual test in the vehicle not hypothetical.
M35 with PSC: Engine off sitting still I can still barely turn tires. Driving and killing engine I can turn while coasting. 12r20tires on the snow.
Park the M35 walk over to...
Can't turn because of no power steering? I have lockers in all 3 axles and turns perfect at all speeds with all 3 locked. Just curious. I don't have air lockers but wish I would have put them in! Maybe next time.
I have a few video on you tube with lockers engaged. They are on this site...
I just kinda copied what I see all the other guru's doing. I have not ever seen a bolt on method. I made sure it would hopefully not catch on anything going forward or reverse when trying to get unstuck. yes, lots of large bolder/ rocks everywhere i go as well.
I had both trucks out on a...
Yep, watch, watch and rewatch. Finishing up engine rebuild. Pistons, main and cam in yesterday do the rest today. Injection pump out for rebuild. So much for the time schedule. That went out the window 4 weeks ago when I started teardown and trying to order parts.
It was expensive, I agree, but seems like everything is. The cost was the PSC system plus the gear driven pump from a 5 ton. More cost if you don't trust your welding for attaching to front axle would have to hire that out plus a small piece of steel plate. All in all the waterloo system is a...
Yes sir, but only because of all the smart guys on here and your page! I figured I would possibly still get 60 just like the original tranny. There are 3 AT545's here locally. Lots of old trucks sitting around. Should not be hard to find the eaton options . Just checking options...
I brought the truck into the shop to thaw it out and melt the snow. I feel overwhelmed with the potential project. For some reason I can not find Mudguppy's write up. I have watched Tactical Repairs vids. I can weld, fabricate, and make bad choices. Not a natural mechanic and don't really...
1'' sch 40 pipe is plenty to make branches go up and over.
Just to confuse you a little.... I drive thru a lot of thick trees/brush and one thing I noticed is that something meant to deflect will more often than not catch a branch and make it get stuck and cause more damage. Also the...
2'' such 40 pipe is very stout for a rack. I am going to use 1'' or 1 1/4 for mine. I am sure you know this as you have obviously done a great job on your build.. welding included.
Well, first off after further inspection I did have "R" on the front left and "L" in the front right. I must have messed that up when I serviced everything last year. A friend of mine who is a mechanic stopped in to take a peak and says the studs had been stretched and broke instead of...
I just did 6 and was really impressed at the design. I even broke one down to pull out a nail I did not initially see and it was great learning and easy. Easy to see how the tire "locked" over the ring when properly seated. I still used caution.
