    are there any flu419's left?

Anyone know off-hand what the temp switch is set to? This last summer I had them come on when I started the machine up. (hot day, machine sitting in the sun)

Headlight Also, for anyone else here that was a doof and broke a headlight while removing or reinstalling the Schmidt front loader, the replacement sealed beam headlight from Wagner is $13. Part number 4800, listed as a military lamp and rated at 28V. Easily found once you know what to look...

The TMs show a filter on both the suction and return FWIW.

In regards to the hydro oil puking out of the vent; that happened to me when I first got my SEE. At the time I just figured it was overfull and since it didn't happen again I never really figured out what was going on. But there was some pump whine that coincided with it like there was air in...

Using my SEE for real work

No, uphil. Most of the steep sections I kept it in the mid twenties. 3rd direct and underdrive except for maybe two places where I had to drop to second to gain some speed back to shift up. I pass a friends house on the way (though he's maybe 1/4 mile up the side of the canyon) and he knew...

Using my SEE for real work

Not sure this really counts but my FLU did get me to work the other morning. That's a job right? 3500 vertical in 7 miles. Curvy rd with snow and ice. Took about 15 minutes. Averaged around 30 mph. Granted the heavy stuff (FL4 and M35C) stayed home, but the Michelin XLs actually did quite...

Just for reference. A photo of the ID plate from the front pump. I"m so fed up with the speed of the front system that I'm looking into pump replacements. The hoses would have to be upsized too as the out currently is tiny. Anyway, not sure an internal gear pump belongs on anything I own...

    Unimog Tires 20" rims. 12.5 r20

Ok, another tire question. I spoke to Idaho Motorpool about the Goodyear G272. They said they have run those on a few flu419s and they defiantly drive better but rub just a bit at full lock. My question is has anyone else here run the G272 (12.00r20 size) on a 406 or 419 and what did you...

Oops. What have others done when faced with this? I’m pretty sure the loader won’t pick it up. btw the outriggers were chained together.

I can't promise, but I will try to take a photo and help with what goes where. Usually there is a power, ground and solenoid for a starter. Food for thought. Standby...

It’s a heavy truck, with crappy tires, high contact pressure. GAA is just grease. I doubt it truly matters. The impliment pins don’t really care i can gaurantee. The thrust bearings in the tourque tubes may have a preference, but I honestly doubt it. I use marine 4x4 grease ‘cause it wont...

    SEE hose reel swivels

I talked with Hanney reels yesterday and because i didn't have the reel SN in-front of me we cant be absolutely certain, but it looks like the specific swivels i have are unicorns or not hannay swivels. Oh well. The easiest thing at this point is to get a 1/2” swivel from any of the places out...

    SEE hose reel swivels

I got mine off pretty easily. The left one as you’re facing the reel required vice grips on the reel to break the pipe thread lose. But it wasn’t too bad. The seals in the swivels are not simple O-rings there’s a fiber support ring and a nylon support ring and then a rubber o-ring that has a...

    SEE hose reel swivels

Update: The rebuild kits that I got in the mail are not the right size or type. Something's haywire and while I wanted to call Hannay today and try and sort it out, I was unable to make the time. In short, the "super Swivels kit (GLT) SS8PB-Kit-008" is not a match for the swivels I have on my...

Push down all the way on the left lever. You should feel a detent. The lever may or may not stay there, so you might need something or someone to hold it down while you jack... up. 2 min too slow....

    SEE hose reel swivels

Only one tank you say? Might be a unicorn. Normally the tools are run off of one of the valves behind the cab. I can’t recall which one, but it should be the one with a single solenoid on it, not two. If it’s stuck on or always commanded to be on maybe that’s why the tool reel won’t shut off.

    SEE hose reel swivels

Maybe this saves some searching and some money for someone else. The part numbers for the oft-leaking swivels on the tool hose reel; NSN 4730-01-160-9833 John Deere 99272188 Hanney Reels 9927.8138 or 9927.8139 (depending on o-ring material) Also I found a viton re-seal kit for 1/2 the...

One can connect the two hoses for the hoe on the vehicle side. Its a bit if a wrestling match but doable. If i did it you can too and it’s simpler than building a coupler hose. (Much cheaper too) Depending on where you live (water content etc) I wouldn’t worry an awful lot about the fluid...
