Unless it is a emergency where you need the cable NOW and if that is the case be very very careful because you are using damaged cable, just cut it off and start over, the cable is not worth wasting a lot of time on, CUT from the side.

To be SURE the caging bolt will hold, BEFORE you loosen the band, give the end of the tightened cage bolt a good hit with a 2/3 lb hammer, other then scarring the crap out of you if the bolt lets go, nothing will happen, better to have it let go now then the once the band is removed and the pot...
I would be REAL CAREFUL going to 2350 rpm, this is getting REAL close to valve float and valve kiss which starts at 2400, The 855 series is not designed as a hi rpm engine, it has fairly long rods, valves that WILL start to float at about 2400, to make a high rpm 855, it gets different valves...

I would NOT run a duel voltage, first the cost, second, if one side (12v) goes down which may screw with the reg., (maybe over/under charge issue) which could mean a dead truck, in order to fix the 12v side, the alt. needs to go to the shop, which means that the truck is down. You can get a 24v...
Years ago I loaned a VERY expensive Snap-on torque wrench, It was ALWAYS dead on, one of the selling features was to guarantee to stay dead on and I could have Snap-On check on the calibration any time I wanted, so every time I was going to need it I found a Snap-On truck, SO I loaned it to...
A MARKED STICK is the BEST military fuel gauge, fill it up, stick it, work it for a hour, stick it, you now know how much fuel is used in a hour, the ONLY thing the lies worse then a military fuel gauge IS a politician.
It is funny, the fuel gauge is one of the most important items on any...
