I had a couple of spare hood lifts for my 2002 Camry so I figured that they should work. It still needs a couple of reinforcement plates across the ribs on the hood, cleaning up and painting but it works great. Opens by itself after raising the hood about 4 inches.
Mine was leaking a few drops from the QD fitting on the hose at the clutch. I replaced it from underneath witout removing anything and all is well now.
I just finished yesterday replacing my injection pump which I had overhauled. I'm not sure where you are in NC, but give me a call sometime if you have any questions and I may be able to help. Here's my ride.

I know someone who had the same problem recently on a fairly-new-to-him truck. After investigating, we found that wheel had a solid bolt from a 1082 trailer instead of the hollow banjo bolt in the airline and couldn't inflate.
Have you unplugged your time delay module with the hood up, engine idling, to verify that the fan clutch is working?
