No. CARC has pretty rough texture, for paint.
Wash the truck with DAWN, to get all the oil and grease off... use a scotchbrite or brillo pad (with no soap) to scuff things up... or sandpaper if you really feel like it (last time I used a sander with ~200 grit) and do a rough pass over the body...
First two were immediately after applying, next two were 5 days later... Apparently I didn't take pics of the ultra-flat.
5 days later...
This is Behr 4300 ultra-flat about 4 years after applying it....and the M1010 was about 2-3 years before that. If you're wondering about...
Ultra-flat.
Marquee has a primer built in, and is not quite a semi-gloss but definitely not flat.
The premium plus laid down better than the marquee, but still wasn't flat.
I believe the product code is 4300.
I have a picture comparing the 3 in the Behr paint thread, I'll have to see if I...
I'm assuming your headsets are using a 4 pin 1/4" plug ? Or are they the older 2 wire, 2 pin 1/4" plug?
The UV5R is a radio. Advantage is it can be used to talk to others, not just in your truck.
Disadvantage is others can hear your convo if they're close enough.
Intercom can't be...
Baofeng UV5R on MURS. License free, low power, and the radios are roughly $25 a piece. They support VOX, so no need to key the PTT every time you talk. Adapters are readily available, or you can just buy newer 2 pin headsets for cheap.
This has already been hashed over, years ago.
I'll have to find the info, but the long and the short of it was, military vehicles are exempt from FMVSS, and because they're exempt, they comply with it, by being exempted from it.
Since the vehicles were manufactured under the exemption, the...
An average 2,000 sq ft house needs about 80K BTU of heat... That comes out to about 40 BTU / Sq. ft
Of course higher/lower depending on where the house is, but that's the average.
You have 60K BTU for 90 sq ft.
That's 666.66 BTU / sq ft.
You have more than 10x the heating capability per sq...
Yellow speed limit signs are not regulatory. They're advisory/ cautionary. Like if you're going around a curve, or an off ramp.
White speed limit signs are regulatory, and hold the force of law.
I passed a yellow advisory sign, didn't reduce my speed, and got pulled over for 'speeding'...
Someone probably saw one, and said 'OMG, I can't believe they let these weapons of war on our streets for anyone to drive, THEY COULD KILL PEOPLE!'... and they either know someone in politics, or ARE in politics, and decided that they wanted it changed....
Same type of people that call the HOA...
One should probably devise an exit strategy, to flee the People's Republik of Marylandistan.
They haven't found anything that they didn't wanna control, or tax.
Doesn't help when you get pulled over for 'speeding' and have to explain to the officer what the difference is between a regulatory...
Just a heads up. Fuel lines run in a pinch area. When the engine mounts fail (rubber rot), the engine can drop enough to pinch the lines.
A blocked return line can do funny things.
A couple notes.
A full synthetic will pour better at lower temps.
When I owned my CUCV, I changed my oil every 6 months, because I didn't drive it that much. I went with 15w40 in spring, then in fall changed it to 5W40.
The difference between 15w40 conventional and 15w40 synthetic was...
You can also buy JUST the sticker... Use some alcohol to clean the reflector surface, then stick it on. They usually run about a buck a piece..

That's not weather resistant, and not designed to mount in the engine compartment.
In order to use that safely, you'll need to mount it in the cab, like behind the seat, then run wires to the batteries.
5A@24V is = 120W
The same 12V charger equivalent is 10A. But, that means you can get a 5A...
